CV joints instead of Uni's should stop the vibration as they dont have the acceleration/deceleration phaseing like uni's do. Slight angle on the rear (i.e. so the uni has to work at an angle, not point along drive shaft) should minismise vibes them if you are uni's. Running a Double cardon is not th...

theres a brass bush on the inside of the hub which will need replacing if flogged out. not part of the seal kit but can be sourced through toyota. around $60 each but worth it if you want the seals to last.

HILUX DIFF SWAP ?

HEY ALL,

I AM IN THE PROCESS OF UPGRADING MY HILUX AND WAS WONDERING IF THE FRONT DIFF CENTER FROM AN 84 LUX WILL FIT INTO THE FRONT OF A 93 MODEL. ANY ONE HAVE AN IDEA IF THE AXLE SPLINES AND HOUSING BOLT PATTERNS ARE THE SAME.

ANY INFO WOULD BE GREAT.

got a d/cab hilux that i cut 600mm out of the middle of the tray that way i could keep the rear of the tray looking std with light mounts etc.

cut same amount out of side boards and welded back together. wasn't hard to get it all to line up and find i rarely have side boards on anyway.

i think its an 86 hilux d/cab. he had the conversion done by marks 4wd adaptors and cost around $9000. he didn't use the lux g/box, he had the holden auto fitted which seems to be going ok. give marks adaptors a call as they were quite helpful with any info he required. don't have the number though.

last i saw GQ's, although excellent, were a bit pricey.

what about a 60 series in good nick. pick up for aroung $7k and have a lot left over for accesories... diff lock, lights, tyres, bar etc.

spares a cheap to.

35 in a 35 is good. larger profile the tyre the more sidewall flex therfore the more prone to edge wear. Pump em up harder and you reduce the tyre flex on corners and extend life. would have thought 35psi would wear the center of the tread. i don't have 35's though, but run 24psi in 32'extreme trek...
