Re: 60 series low range selector
Yeh it's got a body lift and I've trimmed the trams tunnel, and it's a 84 model G pack with the L shaped shifter, it stays in H4 no worries but not L4 The frame or bracket on the side of the trans also prevents the lever from moving forward into 2WD/L. If the bolts are loose on the bracket or its ...

Re: 60 series low range selector
Body lift -pop the boots and trim the trans tunnel.
Busted mount - will cause trans to move and pop it into 2WD -L
Also, if the bolts are loose on the support bracket it will pivot allowing the selector to move forward into 2WD-L

Re: Replacing Rear RHS Wheel Studs on a HJ61
You're better off taking the hub off the car and supporting it as you knock the studs out, otherwise you may bend the hub. And you're better off knocking them back in rather than pulling them in with the wheel nuts, strong possibility you can strip the nut/stud.

IIRC - Use DBA slotted 60 rotors, later 4 pot (twin 45mm) calipers(Runner or 80s), and the m/cyl off the Runner or 80s.

Dunno how, but when I reversed up to take pics today I drove further up the ramp....still in 2WD :D http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/HJ65/BitsNpieces/FlexArms28Dec09-5.jpg I'm guessing (if it's anything like mine) it's because when reversing up a ramp there is a further weight transfer on to ...

Got around to fitting the 3" arms the other day  First mark is 'standard', second mark is front sway bar removed and final (top) mark is with the flex arms (& no sway bar). Drove up the ramp in 2WD til a wheel slipped. http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v337/HJ65/BitsNpieces/FlexArms28Dec09 ...

How are the springs 'held' together? That is, are the clamps around the leaves tight, or do they have a gap at the top to allow them to 'open up' during droop..? Are the extended shackles greasable? If they arent they may be binding, restricting movement. Are the sway bar/s still on? Some come with ...

If the switch checks out ok, check out the wiring loom that runs under the steering column esp at the large blue(?) plug. My old 60 had a prob of flashing high beam at all weird and wonderful times (like as a cop car went past...). The insulation had melted and allowed several wires to short out ...
