100 IFS Steering rack - rebuild or replace?
Looking for advice on a leaky 100 IFS series steering rack. It's leaking about 5 drips a day. All of the regular mechanics are wanting to just replace it, but at $2k for the part or $1200 for a copy, I am hesitant. What are they like to have rebuilt? It's just a piston with some seals right? Anyone ...

HDJ100R CV options
I am looking for feedback on aftermarket CV's for the HDJ100r.
Large range in prices. Would assume the same for quality. Would like your feedback on what you have used and experiences.
Thanks

Re: gq patrol getting hot
Do thermo's infront of the radiator fit?
Or would it be better to remove the fan and just run twin thermo fans?
With a turbo'd engine, is the stock radiator adequate?

Re: gq patrol getting hot
Sounds the same as mine.
Creeps upto the H on the stock gauge when towing camper at 100.
I won't be touch anything until I get a few gauges installed.
Now, what is a safe operating water temp?

GQ TD42 Oil pressure questions
Hey guys, I just got a Turbo/Gas TD42 and have a question in regards to a cold startup and oil pressure. When she is cold, you can really hear the tappets/valve assembly rattling about. After a couple of kilometers the noise dies down and she sounds perfect. Oil level is fine. Q. Is this a normal ...

Just wondering if the Jimny 1.3 would be able to tow a box trailer, 2 adults and 2 kids on sand? Am I expecting too much? 85% of the time it will be my ...

<hijack> I am close to doing the same thing as dybles, 290k 2h about to get 8-12 psi. Now, I am thinking is it worth getting a compression test, once again with diesels it costs a fortune - but would this tell me if I should continue or not ? If a 2nd hand v8 60 came along I would buy it and swap ...

go with whatever you budget says :) 5L injected holden with some small mods will hammer and still be cheaper than the 2uz. repair costs favor the holden. Chev is great as parts are everywhere, but injection will set you back. What is your aim? 13 sec quarters or just more balls than yer diesel mates ...

m24 garrett (patrol 3L) onto 2H Toy - wasting my time?
Hey guys,
picked up a good manifold and 3inch exhaust with a busted turbo attached. Also scored a m24 garrett turbo off a 3l patrol.
Should I bother putting the 3l m24 turbo onto my 2h toyota or am I wasting my time?
I am wishing to get upto 12psi out of this thing.
Cheers,
Foodie
