I've just had to pull the head off the similar sized cheapo compressor I have. There is a plate sandwiched between the head and the cylinder with two one way valves. The valves are a piece of flat spring steel and cover plate, retained in the alloy with peened over tabs. In my case, the vibration ...

Anyone who doesn't know the Little River Range, make sure you bring warm gear. If you think you are going to be warm enough, pack another top!

It always blows a gale down there.

The alternator is a 14V 90 Amp model. I dunno how the output curve differs from the Marelli, but it works fine.

Price? $35 second hand from eBay, but Pick A Part charge $32 for a complete alternator and they have plenty of buggered Mitsubishis. I threw new bearings at it for another $15.

The roof around the alpine windows, floors can go if there has been a leaky windscreen or blocked aircon, chassis rust is rare here but does happen, plus the outriggers can go. There can also be some galvanic corrosion in the doors.

That's funny...I've got a '95 Rosignol, far as I know it still has the original screen...no tint.
Which is why it has no tint! Nobody makes screens that fit the older Discos without tint. A royal PITA!

Macman, i had a new non tinted front screen fitted 4 months ago.

Andrew at Les Richmond thought I'd be able to get a non tinted one, but not all Disco screens are the same. Mine being a 93 3.9i means that the "update" screens don't fit, and the only option was a bodgy job with a new screen or a ...

ALDI hand winches

Hi all,

I splurged and bought one of the hand winches that ALDI have on special for $299, cased with cable and handles.

I also bought their winch recovery kit that has a winch extension strap, rated snatch block pulley and tree protector for another $99, also cased.

I took it all out of the ...

The other issue I have found with LPG is that any slight ignition problem shows first symptoms on LPG, and all might appear to be normal on ULP. Once the LPG running is so poor you can't drive it, then you MIGHT start to see something happening on normal fuel. Something to consider.

The nitrates build up, and with condensed water in the oil create nitric acid - just the thing to root your main bearings. Nothing to do with the valves at ...

Stage 1 SIII strength?

Here's one from left field.

How strong is the driveline in the Stage 1's? Reason? I am thinking our Disco is too nice to take on really hairy trips, but I can see a time when we might want to do more of it. I like the idea of sticking with an old knock about Rover, but I have fallen in love with ...
