2004 4.2TDi ST Patrol

Hi, to add my 2 cents worth, i got my GU through pickles Auctions for 27k last year. fully decked out with LRA tanks and other bits and pieces. wasnt a bad price considering my local yard wanted me to part with 39,990.

To my knowledge, it doesnt have a computer like the 3.0L

Thanks Dozoor, I'll juice it up with some premium and see how we go. Is it safe to run prem fuel in these engines all the time? I guess this may sound silly, but my main car is a TDi Patrol and dont get under the petrol engines at all

Valve clearances G13BA engine

Hello all, I am having alot of "tappety" noise comiong from the engine when its under acceleration, and was wondering the suggested valve clearances for this motor. Since I cannot find a 1.6 VIT motor, i will get this thing running better(ihope)

I have done the deisel Gemi conversion and it did go very well....... Everything is custom........I fitted it to a 1.0lt SWB sierra and the conversion was very neat and looked factory to the untrained eye...... I moved the transfer back 30mm and ran a VW CV as a jackshaft between the gemi deisel ...

any real reason for a turbo-diesel??? they arent a very common or easy conversion rather go for a popular one such as a Vitara 1.6 efi etc. I guess a turbo diesel motor isnt that common, and also,I didnt want the vehicle to be "overly fast" as Im not the one driving it. Thats when I decided to ...

If it's not going off road wack a vn holden engine in it and it will go like the clappers! But you said you don't want it to go too fast why not keep the stock 1.3? A stock 1.3 was the very first option, but finding a good one proved to be all too much. Then the re-fuel options came to mind, with ...

Looked at everything on ebay, some of which are nice rigs, but the distance would kill me when picking it up, being in townsville. I'd even go for something that is clagged, and rebuild it.

Ive had a look at that one, as it might save me alot of money in the long run, but the dood selling it hasnt returned my email yet....But the TDi option was raised so we can travel remotely, and re-fuel(I have TDi GU Wagon) without carrying both diesel and ULP.

The time has come to buy my daughter a car to play in., and Ive decided to do up a suzi. What I am after, is suggestions on a replacement motor for it.
