Re: HELP ON FJ40 HOLDEN 308 CONVERSION
Hello all, The poster is a mate of mine, I see his truck a few times a week and he wants some information on this. So I'll explain everything. He bought it from someone else who sold it as a project. It comes with a 308 + manual box and bellhousing, so I don't know what type of gearbox or ...

Re: 1985 Toyota 4Runner - What is this box?
Hello,
It's a voltage regulator as I've checked on Google. So the last question remains. Can I use 4y voltage regulator on a 3y motor as it wouldn't matter or it does?
Thank you
CC

Hello, My mate has let me borrow the 4runner and we did a couple of creek crossings and had some engine problems. Turns out the Harmonic balancer was wobbly annd causing the motor to fill up with water. We've drained it out, replaced it with oil and diesel, ran around for a while and drained it ...

Re: Identifying a Toyota diesel motor in FJ40
It's definitely a FJ40 - 281xxx as it says on the chassis. The motor came with the chassis like it is, but though looking at the photos(post above me) it does look like a H motor. Definitely a boat anchor, not worth wasting my time/money rebuilding those.

I'll find the chassis number and I'll see if I can scrub down the block and see what else comes up.

Okay... I'll have to take a photo of it. It has no heads, just the block/pistons with few things. I'll take one tomorrow and upload it here.

Re: Identifying a Toyota diesel motor in FJ40
This is why I want to know if it was an original motor not a different one. I'll just have to wait and hope someone from OL can shed a light on this! Nah my chassis is definitely a FJ40.

Re: Identifying a Toyota diesel motor in FJ40
Alright, I was told it was a 4.2ltr 6cyc diesel. But I know the FJ/BJs didn't have 4.2ltr only 4.0 and below. I hope to hear something about this soon.

Re: Identifying a Toyota diesel motor in FJ40
On the bottom back left side block it comes up with H75xxx and on the right side of the block there's two different numbers 47015 and a big 23 on top of 90713.

Question: Toyota engines(v6) for Hilux
I was curious about what sort of toyota engines were easy fit on hilux. Basically engines from Supras, crown, soarers and so on. I've heard a few conversions using those sort of engines and I wanted to know if they were worth the conversion and your opinion on them.

Marks make a adaptors from Turbo 700 auto and for 4L60E to cruiser split transfer's so the Commo V6 auto's aint a problem . Wally. That’s what I’m thinking. Cant see why you cant use the auto out of the commie, and then a split t-case out of a later 40, or 60, which shouldn’t be an issue. And ...

Hello, I've got mates who have 4WDs and I'm in the process of ditching the whole car thing and move onto 4WDs. This sort of brings in a problem for me, as I've noticed in the TradingPost, Carpoint and a few other sites that most 4WDs are manual. I would like to start off with a auto and work my way ...
