It's a voltage regulator as I've checked on Google. So the last question remains. Can I use 4y voltage regulator on a 3y motor as it wouldn't matter or it does?

Hello, I took this box off the 4runner. It was sitting on the passenger side engine bay. Hello, My mate has let me borrow the 4runner and we did a couple of creek crossings and had some engine problems. Turns out the Harmonic balancer was wobbly annd causing the motor to fill up with water. We've drained it out, replaced it with oil and diesel, ran around for a while and drained it ...

I was thinking of going 12H-T - I want to keep it diesel and 6cyl not a v8 or petrol.

It's definitely a FJ40 - 281xxx as it says on the chassis. The motor came with the chassis like it is, but though looking at the photos(post above me) it does look like a H motor. Definitely a boat anchor, not worth wasting my time/money rebuilding those.

Alright, I was told it was a 4.2ltr 6cyc diesel. But I know the FJ/BJs didn't have 4.2ltr only 4.0 and below. I hope to hear something about this soon.

On the bottom back left side block it comes up with H75xxx and on the right side of the block there's two different numbers 47015 and a big 23 on top of 90713.

Hello all, I just recently acquired a nice FJ40 chassis with a diesel motor on it and I would like to find out what motor it is. I have the engine number and some other numbers but I cannot find what motor it is so I can figure out what to do next with the motor if it's worth rebuilding or not ...

Been looking around for engine specs and I know nothing about toyota engines

What about running auto on those sort of engines? or there will be some mods/adapters for it?

I was curious about what sort of toyota engines were easy fit on hilux. Basically engines from Supras, crown, soarers and so on. I've heard a few conversions using those sort of engines and I wanted to know if they were worth the conversion and your opinion on them.
