Well i have ( with a bit of help, thanks Zoli ) got the new front drive shaft in the 80 . It not has a double cardin joint up near the transfer case and the front diff has had the castors corrected with a new slightly dropped bracket for the front castor hole. I am getting a bit out of my mechanical depth already chopping up drive shatfts, dropping the transfer case and finding out how to get the flang off doesnt sound like a weekend mechanics job!
I have to admit i dont want the damn thing falling off, what sort of mess did it make?

Tried tapping the holes but as it is a bit of a nightmare to get the flange off, it has been a little too inacurate to get the holes to line up perfectly and it is giving a problem bolting it through to get the threads to line up. Great advice though.

Zoltan had the same problem as you. He had lots of lift from parabolic springs, bugger all articulation, but he changed over to flat springs, drop hangers and packers between the springs and the diff to get the lift back. Now you should see that 83 flex!! Very impressive

if not i may be barking up the wrong tree all together.
May be it is coming from the transfer case? and not the drive shaft after all.
Some Toyota dealer must have come across this problem at some stage?
