I thought the main reason for having a 'smart' solenoid was to protect the engine computer, but as the TD42 doesn't have one, i got a redarc smart solenoid from coventry auto parts for $99 if i remeber correctly.

They have had swb patrols from mq to gu so a lot of those shorties are efi petrol's 4.5 and 4.8, heaps of grunt.
just FYI....they have had Patrols in the middle east since at least the mid 1950's. Here is a pick of a 4W60 Nissan Patrol from the mid-1950's in a junkyard in Saudi. ;)

Now that i think about it, not being in the morning and able to do some math, 10s would be pushing it (maybe if you slipstreamed a truck), but it definately possible to get easily over 1000km's out of a tank (125L) when mostly highway use.

Best I ever got or at least when i worked it out is 7.8Km/L or 12.75L/100km this is around town, now this is me driving with BB Turbo and fuel chip.
On the highway providing you stay on 110km you will easily get 10Km/L and easily get 1000km out of a tank.

The mechanics at AMMS use MTQ, and they are the ones who recommended the GT2560R, they are also at the moment installing the same turbo into a GQ 2.8 that has a large front mount intercooler which at current make 130+ hp at the wheels.
Apparently my cousin has a mate who works for GCG so if i was ...

Already have the Steinbauer unit fitted, in plenty of black smoke with the unit turned up to 75% (the negine cut out at 100%) so i don't think that would be an issue with the GU's injector pump.
Expecting the turbo to be around the $1300 mark, 3" dump pipe probably around $200 and GQ exhaust ...

Took it AMMS at Sandgate, they put it on the dyno and agreed the noise was coming from the turbo, when they took it off, thye found that it was indeed farked, the shaft had about 10mm of play in it, vane ends were burred and a chip in one vane plus was plenty of oil.
