Wheel Bearings

Something keeps shattering my front Right Wheel Bearing..When I replace the bearing all is good until I'm offroad and lock in the hubs...I get a grinding noise at the front still and then if I push too hard for too long..eventually after 3 - 4 trips out somewhere doing this the wheel bearing will go ...

At idle on my 4JB1T's Boost Guage it is sitting at about 1PSI all the time....When you rev it and it hits boost it goes all the way to just past 11 but not all the way to 12...

Kurt that sounds like your FWH, are they autos ? J Top Nope they are manual hubs....The front right wheel has lots of play when you kick the top of it where as all the others are fine in that respect and dont move at all. I'm thinking either wheel bearings or the hub/axle or something along those ...

I am having a similiar problem except mine seems to be coming from the front right of the car and i can feel a vibration throug hthe steering wheel and pedels at the same time. When i slow down and turn and also when I'm doing 110 on the highway its like a clunking grinding noise and doesnt go away ...

Well for those that are interested...It was the bearings on the CV that were almost out...apparently the cv has come disconnected from the hub and there was no drive to the front right wheel and there was limited and about to be no drive to the front left wheel...hopefully problem sorted.

i do what blkmav does run them at 36 so when driving they expand to 40......

Is it a higher tyre pressure that increases Tread wear or a lower one becasue there is more surface area?

first place would be to goto holden and they will supply and fit it for you but for a nasty fee most likely. Apart from that i cant suggest any sydney wreckers to you because im from the Gold Coast so im no help there. Check the yellow pages usually no shortage of them.

Few more questions based on some of the replys. - Down here on the gold coast they dont allow driving on the beaches therefore im assuming it would be the same driving on the beach from Noosa North shore until Rainbow Bay? and can you even drive all the way from Noosa to Rainbow ...
