The video is specific on heat application to very conductive rims, with a closed environment, but with available fuel, oxygen and a heat source, that then causes a temperature rise internally ...

because of the hydrocarbon vapours from diff/gearbox oils I would be using fuel hose. Grab 9 metres from a auto shop and a plastic T for the gearbox/transfer case and 3 x Ryco filters to end them at up under the bonnet in the engine bay, nice and high..

A 5" lift huh...did you get your wheel align figures checked again... ie..castor.. it will be way negative. mate, the trucks getting older and looser..and thanks to that 5" lift also.. You will need to fit a 5 degree castor kit/plate to the front arms....castor correction bushes will not correct ...

Thats it, get some decent torsion bars under the front, Toyota springs of any desription are shyte from the factory.

Get the wheel alignment done also if you make any changes to an IFS front end.

I believe you will see differences/gains on a turbo diesel, but generally not on a normally aspirated diesel... and its pretty simple to see why... To get a bigger bang from more fuel, or a more flammable/combustible fuel mix, you need extra oxygen/air...and in a N/A diesel.. you don't get any extra ...

You guys with turbo'd 1HZ's and EGT guages fitted post turbo are asking for trouble. The heat kills the engine/pistons long before it hurts the turbo. 1HZ with a properly setup turbo runs sweet, mine is a Turboglide Garret I bought 2nd hand, knew its history, fitted it myself, dfitted a 3" mandrel exhaust, pryo guage and boost guage, all up just under $2800, currently running 9 psi, been dyno'd, just watch and drive by the exhaust gas temperatures ...
