The ring problem was modified back in 01 however bogged is correct they have alot more issues that just the ring design.

Yes the new engines have a different ring and piston design. The date was a running change around the end of 01.

GU 3 Litre Sump Oil Leak

These engines have a problem with leaking oil from between the block and the timing sandwich plate due to a lack of sealant when assembled. The oil blows back and can make it look like the sump gasket is leaking so wash it down and keep checking on it.

It is the front hub drive flange (what you have pictured) bolts on in place of either auto or man hub and takes a grease cap over the top.

Only 4.2efi GQ's have the larger twin spot calipers on the front the rear caliper size is all the same. 15" rims do fit (brand pending)over the larger calipers but there is a very small gap between the rim and caliper.

THE CALIPERS ARE ALL THE SAME. THERE ARE TWO PADS LISTED UP TO 10/91 AND 10/91 ONWARDS THE ONLY DIFFERANCE THIS THAT THE LATER PADS HAVE WARE INDERCATORS ON THEM.

Yes there are 6 types 1.1mm to 2.1mm. you should measure the end play on the shaft and order to suit. But if you are like me just go for somewhere in the middle 1.5mm 39253-01j02.

If it is still there once you have had it balanced replace the panhard rod bushes,upper (small hole) 5513501j10 and lower (large hole) 5513501j01 they should only be about $30.00.
