Not sure, a bit to do with powerfactor, and a bit to do with inrush/strike current, but I wouldn't have thought that high!

Take it to a GOOD exhaust shop! They have experience with it! Alternatively, a good soak with an industrial penetrating spray is the ticket. WD40 and the likes are crap in comparison to the industrial jobbies. Also, a good hit of heat from an oxy should help. I've tried plenty of times to fix my own ...

Your stick welder really should run on the 6Kva. I'd be getting the genny and the welder tested. What sort of length extension leads etc were you running, and what else was on at the time. That said, an inverter welder should run on the genny, as they don't have as high a strike current as a ...

Interesting stuff Dean. I wander how long these ropes last in salt conditions, with high strain for long periods. I guess being wet does not matter too much. Water in itself is not an issue to these ropes. Salt water, on the other hand, is about as harsh an environment as it can get, as salt water ...

I intend to make a compressed air adaptor out of a spark plug to heep the valves up DD Why do you want to bastardise a spark plug that is going to be under around 100PSI, when you can buy the proper machined fitting for about $8 from decent auto parts stores? If a piece lets go at this pressure ...

You did put new pads on with the new rotor didn't you? If you didn't, you can find that it's a really quick way to stuff a new rotor, especially if the old pads have glazed from excessive heat! Also, I wouldn't be driving around the block with a foot on the brake. Follow the procedure listed with ...

Yes, It's hydraulic. I have fully bled the system, and there is no problem with master or slave cylinder. I can get full travel on the slave, to the point where the clutch fork hits the bellhousing. But thanks for the help!

Clutch Problems 87 Magna. Does anyone have a workshop Manual

Hi All, Not quite 4x4 tech, but it still is tech. I have just bought an 87 magna (2.6, EFI, Manual) and the clutch isn't completely disengaging. After a few hours of trying various things, I'm at the stage where I think it has a broken spring in the pressure plate, so it's going to be a new clutch ...

Are you certain it's a continuous duty solenoid and not a starting solenoid? They do come in an identical housing, but the starting solenoid has a much higher current through the coil, which will cause a) more heat, and b) the solenoid coil to burn out reasonably quickly. It would pay to check, if ...
