Re: Ignition timing on 308
Thanks Clanky & Turbo GU for the info. I'm running under 1mm gap & about 5deg before top dead centre at the moment so I'll open it up a bit and see what happens. My main problem has been at low revs in 4th when I get a slight miss. At higher revs I don't notice a problem.

Ignition timing on 308
Just wondering if anyone can help me regarding spark plug gap and ignition timing. I have a 308 in my FJ40 and i'm running an electronic dizzy and MSD 'Blaster" coil. My question is, do I stay with the factory settings - as I've heard that because there's more spark you can open up the plug gap a ...

Lift problems on GQ
Recently fitted 4" Procomp springs, shocks & adjustable panhard rods to my lwb GQ but now I have a slight vibration in the rear drive line at about 80 - 90klm. Will extending the lower trailing arms only, so that the springs sit vertical again, bring the diff back to a better angle?. Is it correct ...

I was having backfire & flatspot problems with mine particularly in sand on low rev's. Fitted a GT40 coil & Piranha electronic kit (to replace the standard points and condenser) & the problem was 99% fixed. Also found that the tappets were too tight & I had no valve clearance at all. Now running ...

I have a "Lokka" in the front of my GQ. Best investment I ever made. Yes the turning circle is reduced but if you coast in corners there are no problems. In sand they work fantastic (the front turns like the rock crawlers when their "digging') the front pulls it's self around. As for strenght I've ...
