Re: Q: Drivet 30 Micron Filter kit - Landcruiser / hilux D4-

Rayco sell a lot in the marine market, you buy the 30micron kit then change the filter to a 10 micron to filter out water, Rayco sell the 10micron filters but not in the initial water separator kit for some reason.

Good luck with the serve test  i wouldn't do it in some standard 4x4!!!! The suzuki section used to have a link to a video of the actual test, pretty easy actually as your not braking as you server, brake and swerve simultaneously a different story, a think it was Top Gear or some other ...

There are certainly a few minor flat spots in the motor below 3000rpm, shifting down a gear at 3000rpm up a steep hill usually doesn't end up good. Unless you have some red dash lights I would tend to suspect the fuel filter, as well mines certainly not keen on the local shell e10.

My guess is the NCOP will come in and you'll be allowed you bodylift, springs and 28 inch tyres. The new rules are a pain however it's pretty obvious once two inch bigger tyres are legal no one would get engineered just run bigger tryes and wing it with the suspension lift, I can see the RTA ...

Google Seafoam or Subaru Upper Engine Cleaner for more info as well. Haven't used either but people report similar results. Bit of chat around the CEM products in general tech at the moment too. Any boat dealer who does engine service should be able to sell you similar product, OMC is the one I use.

"Black seems to be the dfault for everything - is it a tougher material? " Same material unless you doing silver, the problem with white is it shows if the paint is too thin or it can burn and look brown if you bake it too long, good old black always looks good even if you do a crappy job ...

It’s expensive but you can buy 2K urethane aerosols overseas, you press a button to mix the two components then it functions as a normal spray, I doubt it’s available here but you never know.

Tell me about it, the V6 actually drops in power output between about 2700 and 3000 revs ,change up earlier rather than latter I guess. I doubt there is a performance chip available that will work with dyno tuning or zuki would fit it at the factory.

Three mil alloy would be very expensive ,almost as dear as proper marine ply.
Zincalume or zinc plate a good idea you can stick it in with Sikaflex and a few pop rivits if you worried about welding.

The droops pretty much limited by swaybar even if you add longer shocks so I don't really know the point of this stupid rule. The one third increase in height can also be tricky but you can forget the rubber bumpstop and just measure metal to metal. You might also have trouble at the back the shock ...
