Had a read of the Rock Block info. Sounds good but says it's not suited to daily driver. Read up on the Klune - V, oooh baby, I want dat one. Emailed them for price and if they'd post to Aust. Fingers crossed. It sounds like the best option for me. Dont really want dual transfers and i reckon ...

Yeah I thought about it but have I'll stick with the 5.1's. A while ago I thought I saw a device, maybe on an American website like RRO or Petroworks or something which fitted betwnn your gearbox and your transfer case and effectively replaced your jack shaft. It left high range at 1:1. It had a ...

Transfer reduction gears with 5.1's.

Gday all, I have 5.1 ring and pinion gears and am running 33's. I want to gear down the transfer case and am wondering which gears to go for. Calmini's are looking good but I dont but these all try to correct gearing in high range for tyre size when I have already done this in the diffs. I dont want ...

That's is quite interesting that you say that if it is road worthy in your home state it is road worthy all over Aust. I was in a brand new merc whith my uncle who had just bought the car in vic and we were driving to noosa. We were pulled over in QLD because it had a clear cover over the number ...

Trip to Fraser

Gday all, I'm from Vic an have a big lifted zuke on 33's. I'd like to do a trip to Fraser Island but have heard the laws are much stricter up in QLD regarding lifts and tyres etc. My car is fully engineered down here. Can anyone foresee me running into any problems with the filth up there.

Adjusting 1.6 EFI Idle?

Just wodnering if this is at all possible. I have a vitara motor in my Sierra and it just seems as if it idles a little low after i've braked and standing at the lights . Seems fine when cold but usually idles low when warm. Also, I've heard you can alter the power delivery by messing around with ...

Steve, your comment is right on the money. My comment was a bit missleading. Yes, the engineer has put work in since the beginning and I will certainly pay the man for his work and the certificate regardless. The reason I posted this question was because from the start, I wanted to get the car ...

Thanks guys for you input. I guess I just wanted to know if it would be a waste of time paying for the engineering report when these laws could come in and make my report worthless. The car was professionally built with an engineers knowledge from the getgo. Just want to know if it's worth paying ...

Ok ok ok. I get the fact that people don't like the body lift, and I'm sure you all think they are the worst thing ever in the entire history of the freakin world. Hey Pete. Yeah I know you don't need a body lift for the 1.6, but I did my research and that was the option I liked best. I never said a body lift was the only way. Oh, and I'm in Vic too.

Engineering.

So my car is being lifted with a spoa and a body lift. I'd like some opinions on weather or not it is worth getting it engineered given all this fuss about the changing laws etc. Oh, and I do know and engineer who would approve it.

I reckon it's that lead (the metal), doughnut-shaped exhaust gaskett just south of the mannifold. If thats worn out it can give a throaty diesel sound under acceleration and nothing when cruising.

Is it therefore worth engineering a modified fourby now if the laws are all going to change in a year or two? Will these new laws force owners of engineered 4x4's to change their whole setup?
