I just put a stage 2 waggot cam in my 3.5 and it cost $250 for the cam (new billet) and $98 for new lifters.

good power gain. stage 1 might be better if you daily drive, as the power curve is better down low. i have the stage two and it comes alive at about 4500......

dunno what the f*ck is up ...

well i have done it and its all but complete.
mounted a 5 gal. RCI fuel cell in tray.
ran line through cab using p clips.
have not got a stop tap yet but will soon. also got to put a guard on it.... have pic but dunno how to do it

OK, quick Q: my lux is makin a funky cv like noise from the front ATM, and the hub is HARD to turn< may i have averted damaging my cv and still get this noise from a stuffed hub???

thanks for the input so far. i am thinking i may just do it and see what happens. i will be running a small shut of valve between the seats incase there is a bonnet fire or big leak or something in the engine bay.

IMHO auto is cool. better off road. full manual valve body with B&M or hurst shifter. you can bang up/down the gears quick as withour losing momentum by depressing clutch and changing gear. i have manual hilux and it blows A$$! I want a 700R4!

i just sold a manifold for a rangie on ebay to suit a 2 bbl holley! i used this on my Rover sedan motor in my lux for years. no real trouble off road on angles, goes well. sold to upgrade to 4 bbl. got a manifold from a bloke on this board to suit.

yeah buick v6 would be good! a guy on pirate has one in a first gen. lux. Looks good.

I reckon (know!) a 350 chev would haul ass.... but heavy.

commo v6 would be sweet but wiring etc makes it unviable in my opinion if you cant DIY.

maybe a smaller carbed v8, like a ford 302 or holden 253/308, thse are still quite heavy.
i have a rover in mine (carbed), its light, its only 3.5 litre ...

i have davies craig thermo fan and it is tops..... flows good. either push or pull and it is ok to get water on.

a 600 vac.sec. holley is really 2X 300cfm carbs in one. the motor will run fine on the primarys, and if it develops enough vacume (which it enevidbly will) it will pull the secondrys open ...

well, i have finally got my engine togeather after new waggot cam, lifters, cam chain and gears (old ones were about to trash themselves :shock: )

Anyway, fired her up and it idles sweet but when i throttle it it will bog and die... if i only just touch the reves up slowley it will rev out ok?

And that really constitutes conclusive proof. (A) you are talking about a different vehicle, (B) a different type of wheelspacer, (C) 3 months is not very long, and (D) where do you mention doing a trip to the cape, fully laden over corrugated roads and washouts???

I have had some wheelspacers (3") for a few months and i cannot break em!!! would not be a problem in my opinion. 6 stud lux.

like simo63 said, later rovers (ie Range rover, rover motors) have lower compression about 8.0:1 i think, and the older (as in 70s car) have higher compression about 10:1.

if you are looking at the older motor i think you may have problems, but if its a later model, you may be in the ballpark ...

are you running them through the chassie rails or attatching them somehow to the inside of rail???

its a rover v8 motor. uses a thermo allready. really tight in engine bay

i could move it infront of radiator support but if im going to do that i midas well put it out back...

Just thinking about moving the radiator to the tray on my lux coz i think i wanna supercharge the motor :twisted: soon and belt will be to wide to fit in the engine bay.

question being, how/what is the best method of fluid transfur to tray???

(must be cheap to coz im pov!)

Ruff: i was gunna use a disused mount in front and up slightly. it points out and has a hole drilled in it. looks beefy so i will make a plate up and bolt ot too it and thenuse a shackle so i can get it off easy.
