Thanks all.

I think its a safe bet that I'll hold off on the 3.0 and try to find a 4.2TD. Truth be told, I always wanted the 4.2 :lol: but the budget just kept creeping up & up.....I'm sure you know the deal. :cry:

What tends to go on them? Or is it just that there are more lemons in the bunch?

If this one has done 140k, is it more likely that it won't have the same probs as most of the 2000 GU's won't have done that many km's?

Hi all

Just a couple of (possibly stupid) questions. All these questions are related to 4.2 Manual Diesels with no mods....

1) When does the GQ series finish? I thought it was pre '94.

2) If so, are there any good/bad differences between the GQ's (with coil suspension) and the '96 or '97 DX ...

Which Patrol?

Hey all

I'm looking to pick up a second-hand Patrol for going to the snow & some fairly heavy towing. Won't be used too much off-road, but wouldn't mind getting into that too so one that can "do it all" is preferable.

Not sure which one to get, but liked the 4.2 Turbo Diesel for its towing ...
