Re: getting my first 4by
As stated, there's plenty of stuff in this forum, however here's a link to a short summary of some of it. http://www.gqpatrol.com/buyingagq.htm" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; My GQ had nearly 350,000 when I traded it. The TD42 if maintained properly has been known to do 500,000+ kms ...

Re: GQ TD42 alternator question?
From experience, I had to replace mine about 4 years ago (3 weeks before I got rid of the GQ :x ) You can't get parts for the original alternators anymore. The diode packs are the most common thing to go. Why not take it to a battery place or auto elect to get them to put a meter on it - it could be ...

Re: GU patrol - 3.0td reliability?
Like all diesels, it depends how they've been maintained.... HOWEVER.... The 3.0 TD before about 2004 had all sorts of issues with melting pistons. They have the nick name "grenade". The jury is still out on the later models. the 3.0 is thirsty as it's a small engine in a 2.5t truck. expect between ...

Yes i could have called Nissan, but there's a reason I posted that here... Ever called Nissan to get information? Maybe I've just had bad experiences.... Last time I did, I got the run around, and even when they physically saw the car (my wife's old Pulsar) they gave me the part number for a ...

Tiida wheel cover Price and Part number
I know there's some Nissan dealer people who are here.
I need an approximate price and part number for a wheel cover for a 2006 Tiida base model (15" wheel). A lousy thief stole one of mine - saw him, but he had too much head start for me....

Re: best money saver
20l/100 sounds about right. Heavy vehicle and only a little engine. There's a few on here that have added gas and turbos - although that is mostly to the 4.2 petrol.

you will also need a hub spanner, not sure of the size, someone here will be able to tell you that They're 54mm. about $25 on ebay, not sure what you'd pay in the stores. Not done one myself, but have read posts recommending that you need to replace the lock washers on the hubs as you can damage ...

GU IV replacement key button / housing
I have worn through the rubber button on the key. I've tried search and didn't find anything useful. The key and electrics still work, but I want to try and replace the rubber button before dirt and crap gets in and stuffs the whole thing. It appears that the button is a rubber mold into the plastic ...

GU 2" lift - Swaybar link extensions and control arms?
Howdy. Read lots of posts about fitting suspension lifts (love your work Tiny  ). Didn't some of the GQ Ti models come out with twin spot front calipers that meant a 16" rim was required? Or was this only on the Petrol EFI models? As mentioned, the cruiser wheels have a bigger offset (-13mm from memory) which makes them track wider. As a result of the offset, I found that with 33 ...
