I think it currently has 245/65/16

The tyres on it are due to be replaced.

For vanity reasons Id like to go with a wide tyre. 90% of my driving is on freeways doing 80-110 so I would also like low noise tyre. Very rarely would I go off road and if ...

I ended up paying $697 for a service + parts whereas JEEP down the road from me had quoted me $1200 just to look under the hood.

Id like to find someone who knows about them, but doesnt necessarily charge you the badge price for parts ...

I ended up buying a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee v8 - approx 145,000 km with standard accessories for $20k approx.

Have driven it now for 3 weeks - nice car.

Next trick is to work out where to get it serviced.

Ive been looking around for months now. I think I am stuck on the CJ7's
at this stage. I dont like the look of the newer Jeeps either.

Have looked around and everything looks boring by comparison. I do want
a car that Im not afraid to get ...

WJ 2000 and up.
Will cost more then 15k but.
And if you want big wheels will cost as well.
You would have to keep your eyes open to find one for sale already modded.
Beutiful to drive.
You might get a ZJ Grand for around the money you have.
Lifted and bigger wheels they look great as well ...

Also like the look of this one as well. I like the rounded back, but not sure of model or year.

I know its a WJ, but not sure of year or which of the three WJ's it is.

Old Jeeps such as this CJ require constant attention to keep the running well, and are best suited to someone with the ability to fix it on the side of the road. (sometimes often) I have a CJ8 and have the spanners out every week end, but I love my CJ (it is a labour of love) and have good ability ...

I guess what I am trying to decide in my own mind is whether I want to get into a 20-30 year old car, or if I should get something more modern and lift it. I do like the shape of the older ones though...

on the surface of it this one would appear a better buy but then maybe just a better written add you would need to look at them both

also depends what you want I prefer to find a less molested CJ myself but if you want a V8 then it has been swapped in and depends on who did the swap

Funnily enough, i just got asked about the turning circle yesterday by a mate who hadn't seen my Paj. I think it's excellent, pretty nimble around town, piss easy to park, and VERY zippy (if ur into that).

I was originally looking at the Vitaras because I like the idea of a short compact car as I live in the middle of the city, but also want a semi capable 4x4 for when I do want to go bush. The soft top pajero looks to be a bit bigger which I like, without being a ...

Yeah - My brother has a Vitara and I personally would prefer something bigger, but dont want to go as big as a Maverick. The Pajero has a shape that I really like...

The Vitara though looks like it has a lot more 3rd party addons and looks like it would be an easier car to work on, and also ...

So what could I expect to pay for something like either of the above - is the $6k-$13k realistic ?

The other ride I am looking at is the Vitaras. Basically want something fun I can offroad and work on to learn. The Vitaras might be better for this purpose?
