I also get around 28lt per 100 km on 35's. Even though it uses more gas the saving are huge about half the cost. Mine had a few running problems when it was first fitted and I had to replace the aftermarket O2 sensor the gas company put in with an original now it's good. I also got a extra 10 ...

80 series Tuning for petrol/gas

Hi, I've had my 94 80 series put on gas. the problem I now have is it runs really rough on petrol. When it was installed they replaced the O2 sensor, but found no other problems on the Dyno, on gas it runs very well returning 26lt-100km, petrol gets around 20lt-100km. When it was first done the ...

I used 3/8 unc bolts with and machined new taper collets to suit 80 series taper and a 3/8" drill to slightly enlarge the hole on the flange. If you don't use collets the bolts have a tendancy to loosen over time.

Mine did this when I had Rancho shocks, changed to 6" toughdogs now its no problem. I always thought the suspension was to soft and, like Andrew said, long trave. I have a front locker and it still happened.

All I did in mine was drill and tap the hubs, opened up the holes on the flange plate to suit 10mm and machine some new collets out of stainless. 2yrs later no problems and easier than machining out the flange plate if you have no cutter. You can also fit extra dowels or bigger dowels.

The cost savings deinately seem worth it. Did they have to move your exhaust. I was just looking under mine and I reckon it will need to be changed.

80 series on gas

I know this has been asked before, but I am looking for a bit more info. I am looking at converting my 94 model 80 series onto gas, I have a few concerns these being economy, loss of power(should still turn 35's ok?), potential problems with back firing and poor running and also clearance issues ...

Thanks for great response these other gear sets sound good. I think that the Kyatt ones will probably be alot of money for very little benefit. I was unaware that rock hopper gears were available for 80 series but I will look into them and also the marks ones if they come out in the near future.
