TD42 rattle

hey guys,

just bought a gq with the 4.2 diesel.

had a clutch fan that was locked on solid and used to scream its head off at revs. i've removed that and now i've discovered a rattle between 2200ish to about 3500 or maybe more bit hard to tell.

it only seems to be evident under light throttle and ...

Re: Engine mounts 304>GQ

what do you run struth?

after getting the engineers requirements i don't even think its worth it. maximum total lift allowed is 50mm and he wants all the welds done by a ticketed welder.

the bolt on/off option is good though

Engine mounts 304>GQ

G'day,

about to start putting a 304 injected into my gq dual cab.

spoke to my engineer about my engine mounts and he won't let me use a lower control arm bush setup and wants me to use conventional commodore engine mounts.

reasons for this are due the the control arm bushes having about a 1/10th ...

welded heaps of lsds in cars so don't see why you couldn't do it in a 4wd. all about how much access you have to get in there. sometime you will need to split the whole centre apart which sucks

Re: Power steering Pump/Box - rebuild or changover? Melb

reco'ing a ps pump wouldn't increase its power though would it? changing bearings and seals won't do anything to help the pumps peformance??

my ps pump on my gq is not as good as with others so just wondering if its worth reco'ing or trying to find a new one?
