Hmmm DOT avoiding giving answers, who would have thouht that

They are really there own worst enemy, they have a chance to resolve a lot of issues and then try to avoid it. I wouldn't be surprised if they re-schedule again.

Another question:

Are Air lockers illegal? Also are factory equiped diff locks illegal?

I was told when I got my vehicle inspected that my air lockers (in fact any type of diff locker) were illegal, so if this could be verified it would be good.

V6 Lux Gearbox Options

Help A mate of mine has a 1985 lux with a V6 commodore motor in it (it was a 2.4 Diesel origionally). He is running 33s and twin lockers (if that maters). He has blown 3 gearboxes, in about a year and a half. They have just been the standard 5 speed manuals, and one was a dodgy second hand one that ...

This one should be taken along to the DOT info evening for discussion. Even though he was obviously wrong inconsitencies like this should be pointed out, so they can improve their systems and training. I know nothing will happen but its worth mentioning. Got mine booked in in about a months time so ...

I think someone should go along to this meeting as a scribe and get the guy to sign off on what he says. You can get an answer over the phone from them but requeust it over the net in writing and you wont get an answer (its been a month for me). There are rules and then there are rules. A mate of ...

Just another insurance question while the topic is hot. What can we do up here in qld? Any tyres that are 15mm larger in diamater than origional tryes apparantly make the vehicle un-roadworthy. With heaps of people running bigger tyres up here surely someone will know of anyone who has had any ...

Is it possible to buy replacement bump stops to bring the clearences back into legal range? I have heard of low profile ones for the bottom, but what about extended ones for the tops?
Also where can you buy the low profile ones? I would prefer not to cut them.

Just thought I would ask the question here as it seems that it is relavant to this post.

Has anyone got 33s running with the 3.4L petrol?

How does it go, does it have enough power?

Would love to see some pics also( swift30psi@hotmail.com). Just wondering if you have done anything to the rear suspension? Im assuming you just wound up the torsion bars a bit in the front. With the body lift and 33's would it be legal in Qld.

Cheers
