Yeah a V8 is an easier option as here in the uk a kit is available to fit the range rover V8 onto the landcruiser or hilux gearbox.

now he has killed this engine hes decided to go with a BIGGER IS BETTER ATTITUDE, hes looking at a 4.0 6 pot from a 1987 80 series, anyone done such a transplant into an lj70? first thing i can think of is squeezing in those 2 extra pots?

he connected his snorkel to the air intake with a lenth of that flexi ally air ducting pipe the sort of stuff that normally conects the air box to the exhaust manifold on a petrol engine. and it split with engine movement . we towed it out removed the glow plug and cranked it over to empty the ...

i dont think it is because one end of the pipe that comes from it goes to the vacuum pump and then throgh the valve to the back of the injector pump. i think it more likely to be an overboost valve to shut off the extra fuel that is injected during boost as sugested by modified toy.

Hi, on my chassis plate i have the following digits. first model LJ70RV-MEXW and under that i have these 183 FG10 G145 R150 F

the LJ70 is obvously the model but what is the RV-MEXW and as for the others i am guessing that the 183 is the interior trim code and the G145 is the axle code, can any one ...

thanks for all that . its a 2lt and i beleive its already got 4.88 diffs as standard. will fit a boost gauge first to see what pressure i have then will up it to the 11 psi and go from there. link to the surf site looks interesting :lol:
