Ride is nice and soft and more car like then most other 4x4. I prefer the laredo with cloth seats to the limited. I get 16 to 18 litres per 100 round town and 10 to 11 on highway. Its a heavy car and stopping and starting all the time chews up the fuel. The diesel is excellent on fuel if you can get ...

1520mm on the rear diff. 1570mm at the front. Not hard to cut them down.
The jeep would make a much better rig then the Lux.
They are built on a cherokee chassis and a V8 will drop in. The 4 speed will have a granny low gear.
35's will fit and don't look out of place.

Thats a J10 ute. Dana 60 rear and Dana 44 front. No worries about parts or lockers all available. Google OX locker. Plenty of ratios. Dana 60 are 9.75 inch and stronger then a 9inch ford. Can get 35spline axels 1.5 inch. dana 44 are 8.75 inch and very strong as well. The open knuckles are much ...

I have heard this from many CJ owners.
Negative caster wedge plates helps to increase the negative angle. This is what cenralises the steering.
Wide wheels does not help either.
My Cj was a shocker when I first got it, but have improved it a hell of a lot since.

WJ 2000 and up.
Will cost more then 15k but.
And if you want big wheels will cost as well.
You would have to keep your eyes open to find one for sale already modded.
Beutiful to drive.
You might get a ZJ Grand for around the money you have.
Lifted and bigger wheels they look great as well.

Old Jeeps such as this CJ require constant attention to keep the running well, and are best suited to someone with the ability to fix it on the side of the road. (sometimes often) I have a CJ8 and have the spanners out every week end, but I love my CJ (it is a labour of love) and have good ability ...

That carsales Jeep looks to be powered by a 360. Chevy's have the dizzy at the rear if I remember correct. 10g would pull me up for it, I know it has been for sale for a long time and started at around 12g. To many TJ's for sale for not much more then that. It looks good and has had quite some money ...

35's onto 75 series.

I have a 75 series trayback and was thinking of fitting 35 inch tyres to it. It has been lifted so clearance should be OK. It is running a 2h motor and currently on 33's with standard diff ratio's. 4.1-1 going by the Gregorys manual. I was thinking that the big wheels may be to much for the 2h to ...

A 97 Grand Cherokee in good nick will sell for 16-17k private sale. Carpoint will have a valuation section and this is good to use only as a guide. You will get a lot more for your money with a Jeep when compared to other major manufacturers. And you even get to experience the Jeep thing. Hope this ...

Welding the front diff.

I have an old cruiser 1985 75 series. I was going to weld the gears in the front diff to make them permently locked. I figured if I only lock the hubs when off road this would be a more economical way to get a locker other then pay the big dollars for the airlockers. Has anyone done this to there ...

They are a niche market vehicle, and as such some very good and well looked after vehicles owned by enthustiasts can be had for a good price. I think if the cars you are seeing priced as cheap as you say, then they have had a hard life and are showing it. The 97 Cherokee is the most capable off road ...
