This happened to us after a rough run and a snatch recovery involving mud, bottomed out diff, front end in the muck.

Small hairline crack meant that the radiator didn't circulate well when stationary. On the move, the needle went down.

Radiator patch fixed it.

So the thing's got 4 cracks in the head... no choice but to stick a new one in, and all the bits and pieces are ready to go.

Now, I've had thermostat problems that apparently caused the cracking, so I"m going to be changing that over and giving the cooling system a once over. Radiator ...

Over the weekend just gone, I noticed two things:

1. Turbo lag... it usually kicks in around 2000rpm, but nowadays it's not kicking in until well over 2000, approaching 2500, just about where peak torque is. But only slightly noticeable in terms of performance.

Everything ran smoothly for our little Bundy TD after a service, and running up 450km's to Croajingolong. Even did about 130 odd km's of track driving from one magnificent beach to another.

Then on the last day (yesterday) prior to departure for Melbourne, I thought I'd start her up ...

I did try to rock it out of the hole a couple of times.

On the run out to the 'burbs tonight and back it seemed ok. Gave it a good hosing, so we'll see over the coming days. She's going in for her first service Thursday so thumbs up after for sure.
