I have just fitted a factory turbo to my GU TD42 DX wagon and was driving it for 2days with 400mm of 2.5inch pipe straight out of the dump pipe, before fitting a sports 2.5inch system. The difference the system made was more power/torque and less noise. I was told some backpressure was needed for ...

Why do you need a 24v-12v converter when there are 2 12v batteries in the car, can you just power the acc. etc off of 1 battery. Use the 1 battery that has the negative that goes to the car body and connect to the link cable between the 2 batteries would be the postive. This would stop the other ...

Toughnut if you run 2 cables from each battery to the winch + to + and - to - , then you can use smaller cable to carry the load ( current ) but if you went from 1 battery to the 2nd battery then to the winch the cable to the winch would have to be bigger to carry the full load of the winch from ...

Thanks for the info. I removed the left engine mount on the weekend and made two spacer plates ready for this weekend to put it all in, if the new engine mount arrives ( to replace the left hand broken one that I found I had when I pulled it out, it fell apart  ) Will put 20mm back in the ...

GQ SWB Engine lift blocks

Hi All, I have just put in a body lift kit into my 90 SWB and would like to put lift blocks under the engine mounts so I can take out the 20mm gearbox spacers. This would lift the gearbox and shifters back up into the car and make it easyer to change gears. The question is if I take out 20mm ...

Hi, If you have taken the back seat out then the back of the SWB is the same size as a LWB. I use the same system in both cars, the only diff. is the mounting bolts for the seat belts in the rear wheel tubs that I use to hold the system in with.

Hi Alex, Fleetguard part no. for Nissan FF 5307 costs about $22 Aust. money. The CAV filter was given to me by a friend, he used it on his old MQ Patrol, it was taken to work and cleaned up with a sand blaster ( looks new :) ). It has on it: Lucas, Made in UK, Type FAS. Hope this helps. Cheers Paul.

Hi BigMav, Is that a K&N air filter you are using? Does it feed the turbo with all the air it needs, thinking of using the same when I put a turbo on my SWB MAV.
The overflow bottle is about 140mm out from the guard and the tray is 180x310 long.

Hi, If most of your driving is done at Hwy speeds then I would leave the fan off, it is only needed when you are stopped at the lights. Use some spaces on the water pump pulley when you put the nuts back on if you need to.

Hi Tiny
I replaced the fuel pump o-rings for about $7 to stop my pump leaking, it is not a big job. Turned the fuel back and using less fuel too.

If you change the relays for 24v ones you sould be OK. When you double the voltage you 1/2 the amps, that means the cable used is good for 200watt lights at 24v's. :)
