Only Unicorn Suspension have a 5inch lift application for the Paj. The kit in both links uses the Sun Suspension system. Both are made in Thailand.

My Gen 2.5 (4m40) does about 7km/liter in the City. This goes up to about 8.5-9km/liter on the highway.

I was able to secure the K&N part numbers from the local K&N distributor and confirmed these in K&N's web site.

4d56TD - K&N part number E-2871
4m40TD - K&N part number 38-9207

The E-2871 is on-stock according to their US site. Unfortunately the one for the 4m40 is not.

Alex, are you saying ...

K&N Drop in Filter (4D56 and 4m40)

Would anyone have the K&N part number for their drop in air filter for the 4d56 TD and 4m40 engines? I checked K&N's website in the US and they only have filters for the gasoline engines.

I did a search and could not come up with the required info.

Thanks for the help guys.

There are 3 major IFS Lift Kits made in Thailand - Sun Suspension (comes in all yellow parts), Unicorn (light blue) and Ultimate (dark blue).

Only Unicorn offers a kit for the Pajero - only for the Gen 1. On the other hand all 3 have kit applications for the Strada.

I have Rancho 9000's on my Gen 1 LWB. I've had them over a year already. Great improvement in ride. I also like the added benefit of being able to adjust the damper settings for different driving and load conditions.

Jason,

1. My LWB '89 (leaf sprung rear) has a 60 litre fuel tank capacity
2. Not sure about the stock boost levels. My guess is between 10-12psi
3. All Gen 1's released here did not come with LSD's

Hope this helps.

Thanks Frank! How much would the MB241981 rear gear set cost?

This basically eliminates the brand new Italian C&P gear set from my options . The gear importer here in Bangkok only has the 7.25" front diff and 9" rear diff in stock.

I'll renew my search for a set of 5.29 diffs (7.25" up front ...

I visited a few 4x4 shops today. Much to my surprise there are 2 big 4x4 shops that carry brand new 5.29 C&P gears for the Gen 1 Paj. The gears are made in Italy by a company called Antonio Masiero. Is there anyone here on the board who has these gears on their rig/s?

I took pictures of the gear ...

5.29 Diffs

Hi Guys. I'm about to purchase second hand 5.29 diffs for my Gen 1 Paj (1989 - LWB, Hi-roof, 2.5TD, 5spMT) here in Bangkok. I need information on what type/size diffs my rig has. Does it have the 7.25" up front and 8" at the rear?

As you probably know communication here is kinda difficult as ...

mad_landie,

Click on the link below to view two pics of the IFS Lift Kit I got a couple of weeks back. It has 26 parts in total and it already includes parts for a "Spring over Axle" conversion for the rear. My Gen 1 is leaf sprung at the back.

Hi Frank. Thanks for the warm welcome.

"Surplus" (second hand units) 5.29 diffs are readily available here in Bangkok. I had my secretary make a few calls last week and 2 shops have them in stock. I have not inquired if they have brand new units.

Would you know what size diffs my Gen 1 would ...

Hi Guys. Great board you have here. Very informative especially for an offroad beginner like me.

I love Pajero's. I have two back home back in the Philippines - both LWB - 1989 and 1999 models. Details of my rigs are in the signature area. I'm currently in Bangkok for a 2 year work assignment ...
