Re: Handheld UHFs Tech
I think regarding UHF`s , people should have a look at this -------------- http://www.uhfcb.com.au/80-Channel-UHF-Information.php" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; so will our current 40 channel UHF's still work when they bring out the new channels? Yeah will still work fine just will ...

Re: LED work lights
I've got one of those lights on the back of my 80, lights up an area great. For example at one night at our beach house the TV antenna cable had come out of the antenna and i pointed the light up at the antenna on the roof of the house and it lit the area up enough to stand on the roof and fix the ...

Re: High powered UHF CB radio info please
I'd be looking for something that is compatible with the change to narrow band next year.
Unless you need something right away, I'd hold off buying till next year or find something that is reprogrammable.
Otherwise prestige communications online store has good prices and service.

Re: High powered UHF CB radio info please
TX4200 is starting to get fairly long in the tooth so probably have degraded in sensitivity over the years. The glass mount antenna will be your problem though, they never seem to tune up very well and generally aren't installed correctly. Best bet would be to replace the antenna and see how it goes ...

Re: High powered UHF CB radio info please
The GME do have better audio quality over the uniden IMHO.
What model GME Radio is it?
As Damkia said having the extra tx power wont make a huge difference but a correctly chosen and mounted antenna will!

Re: High powered UHF CB radio info please
Problem is you have a Uniden...lol. They have terrible audio quality. The Taits sound better as they are a commercial radio and cost like 4 times as much to initially buy compared to your uniden. I haven't ever heard of the overheating prob with taits, but my experience has mainly been with mid band ...

Re: spotlight dramas
The black cylinder thing with a globe is really your fuse holder and fuse. More than likely it is corroded and taking the fuse out and putting it back in gave it a better contact.
You could try swapping the relays over and see if that makes a difference

Re: electrical repairs
Does it have a switch called TSQ i think it is... If that is pushed it will not recieve.
Or otherwise the speaker is stuffed.
If its not either of those two then it will cost significantly lots lol

Re: glass mount uhf antenna
Not to mention handhelds
But on glass serve a purpose where placement is more important than performance.. they also never seem to tune up real well either so that hampers their performance too

Or just look for a uniden dealer because most likely any repair shop will have to send it to uniden as service back up for uniden radios is just crap.

Re: UHF ariels
Yeah GME have changed there ratings so what your saying applies to GME Antennas. I did often wonder what GME's dB rating was referenced to as dB is a ratio and technically needs to be referenced to something, which they now have included the i to make it dBi, which is isotropic radiator, which is a ...

Camshaft Movement
Have finally tracked down a problem i've been having with my sierra lately. It first had mass distributor problems, with excessive shaft movement, no advance and finally missing teeth. I got a good s/h distributor and put it in and it made a strange noise and took bit of a chunk out off one of the ...

Either the 6120 classic or E85 or whatever it is. Cradles are avaliable through force for either and have a passive antenna coupler so still can have external antenna. Down side being they are bluetooth and you will most likely have to upgrade your data box for it to be compatible with the proper ...

I have had that once, and then it was no drama, suzi so small, all i did was lift her out. My play zone is pure sand, about 10 mile by 15, an im there all the time, only about 5 mile from me. Lockers will help, if you get into a wheel lifted situation, but to use it for constant traction, in sand ...

I wouldn't bother fixing it, just do the swap. You'll need the jack shaft and just the mounting brackets that attach the transfer to the chassis. Then it's just a case of mixing and matching flanges and shafts around to make them fit however which way you choose to do it. What sort of mixing and ...
