looks like i will have to just rebuild it now, who ever fitted it changed the flange on the front of the transfer so a standard shaft wont fit . i dont know what my dc joint is out of now?

thanks guys, i have pulled the front shaft out of my old mans truck and im going to try it for a few days to see if there is any vibration. his is only a inch lower then mine and just got back a 6 month trip around oz and his has no vibration. i have never heard of people have vibration problems in ...

would it make that big of difference with a standard shaft and only 4 inch lift?
the cost to rebuild the cardinial joint i could buy 3 standard shafts. who would you recomend to rebuild it?

i have a double cardan joit in the front of my 80, do i realy need it with a 4inch lift? is it standard in a 95 model? and are they rebuildable?

4 inch lift,i have a locker in there too. it started just bitumen driving to work and back. it didn't just start after i had been wheeling and is slowly getting worse.
i am pulling the cv's out to check them but it dosn;t sound like a brocken cv i dont think , i have had a few. i might be wrong ...

front end noise 80 series

i have a clunking sort of noise in the front of my 80 when you take off and in low range under load only. any suggestions other than cv's and i have pulled the front tail shaft out and checked it and seems to be fine. any help would be great thanks.

tried that and nothing happened, so i guess its the motor, now what should i do ?

warn highmount help?

i went to use my winch on the weekend and nothing was happening, you can hear the solenoids clicking and i tryed to check it out with my multimetre and they all seem to be fine. any ideas on what may be wrong and a easy fix would be great.

is it comon for a motor to burn out or do they seize up ...

i searched and found nothing.

i have a load whine mainly in low range, everyone says it very common but they cant tell me what it is? some people say its the power steering pump, but why would it be louder in low range. any idea's?

also am almost ready to do a clutch, any suggestions on what to ...

What motor where you looking at getting the 4.0 or the 4.5?

im not sure, 4.5 i guess. is there much differece? what years did they come out in? also does any one know if you can put 15 inch rims on the later model 80's that have 16's standard?

do you change the flanges on the tail shaft?
are they bolted on ?
sorry i dont quite understand, but i am chasing a one piece shaft to as i am sick of replacing bloody centre bearings. :x
