So i am about to clean a dirty old diff centre up to fit and i was just wondering what methods and products people use to go about this???
p.s i dont have a parts cleaner sink.. i wish

URGENT HELP fj45 diff
hey all..
im replacing the rear diff in my 45 and im just checking to make sure i get the ratio right. im currently running 4.11 diffs and the one i am about to put in has 9x37 stamped on the crown wheel. Is this diff a 4.11 or a 3.7????

40/45 transfer selector plate mods
I remember seeing a thread on here a while ago about modifying the transfer selector plate(the one that stops you from using low-hi 2wd) on a fj40/45. I think twisty may have done this but i cant find it anywhere!
Does anyone have an idea of where i could find it??

pretty much wat hanko said but with the chop strand and woven, the chop will be easier to wet out first than apply which will make it mould to any shape. Well i have blown up my rear diff and am replacing it this week. I have pulled out the smashed one but before i put in my new one i just want to make sure on the diff ratios. had some carnage on friday night and smashed my rear diff.. am getting a rear 60 series diff and i am just wanting to make sure that it will fit.. i have 4.11's in the front should they be the same?? what ratio's do 60 series run?? should it bolt straight in with same flanges for tailshaft?? cheers ...
