Can anyone tell me where the filler bolt is on the back of the 80 transfer case.Drain plug is right at the bottom & there's another bolt (that is rounding off instead of coming undone) a couple of inches up & to the left.Is this the filler plug or is it the other bolt right at the top of the case at ...

What part is the same? Physically they are much bigger and bulkier and have a 4.1:1 ratio. How are they the same?

Hi guy's. How the hell do u get the transfer case off the box to put on the new box I've got? Theres a pin going through the shift lever on the rail and I cant see a way of removing it properly can anyone help? Also, what type of oil should I be using? :?

thanks for the ideas guy's I'll add them to my ever increasing list of stuff to check. I thought it was the front sway bar which was missing a bolt so it dissapeared on sunday, didnt miss it at all up the Wattagans and no noise all day till we were on the tar for about 15 minutes on our way home ...

It only makes the noise when moving and seems to come it around 80 k's
The trucks got a 4in lift and 33"muddies. I'll check the exhaust and heat shields in the morning. Checked the fan against radsiator but didnt check the shroud for marks yet, good idea. The old girl shudders a bit when reversing ...

Can anyone tell me if all the five speed boxes are interchangeable. Mine is making a hidious noise in 2nd, 3rd & 5th and a bloke down the road has an older model for sale wiyh a five speed but I think its a 4 cylinder. Will the box fit if i swap bell housings? :?

if your frying the clutch theres a chance it may be sticking to the fly wheel or pressure plate and not disengaging at all. From the sounds of it I'd be replacing the clutch before it lets u down in the middle of the bush half way up a gnarly hill climb or something.
