from memory u can bolt them in if u cut your plastic trims. might need to jam some captive bolts in there if they didnt have them from factory..

bought this car a few weeks back to play with.

was ADVERTISED as a 1995 surf, but it wasnt til the next day i noticed it was a 1992 model with a 1995 drivetrain. (i kno wi should have been paying more attn, but i also trusted the seller wouldnt try something so blatent).

im wondering if anyone else has experienced the following:

when in 4wd mode, as soon as there is any resistance applied to the front wheels i CLUNK, CLUNK, CLUNK sound occurs from somewhere at the front/under the car.

So far i have replaceda lot of items trying to find the cause of the ...

the offset is from my brothers troopy. by changing the offset would be changing how far out the wheel sits right..? with the offset changes this shouldnt change the width between the guard and the side oif the tire? or am i just completely off track?

changing offsets will change how far the rim ...

I think the biggest problem by lookingat those pics is the wheel offset. Something with a little less offset will be a lot better, especuially when turning.

id definately agree with that. the tyres on ur old rims will give u the proper offset, i wouldnt think 33s would scrub when turning with the ...

i was under the impression that because there is no leafs or springs under the front, you couldnt do a suspension lift? is this true? i do need to lift the car but how can i do this on the MK?

as for where they rub when turning, looking at how close to the guards they are it looks like if u went over so much as a decent bump it will scrub badly.

you will need to do a 2in susp liftat least.

from ythe above comment i am guessing u mean the sunroof section, not the soft top section?

mine has a similar problem with it not wanting to close due to fouled sunroof mechanism.

i would expect you would need to start with the headlining behind the sunroof, though i havent looked in great detail ...

is the dash showing it is in 4wd mode?

check the wiring to the difflock pump, try to force it to start, id expect it would be a predictable wiring format.

the reversing thing shouldnt affect the pump getting power, it should help it properly engage.
