yeah i swapped everything engine gearbox ecu wiring loom. As far as i know everything is hooked up correctly. i have been told by others that they reach 140km.

no i didnt leave the turbo off. And no i dont have a boost gauge that was going to be one of the next things to try. How much boost should they have.

When ceruising along it seems to rev out at 3500 to 4000 rpm and it wont pull very well in 4th and 5th gear i can only get a max 100 maybe 110 kms out of it and that is at about at 2500rpm in 5th gear. is there a difference between the 1998 5L diesel hilux and a 01 hilux with the 1KZTE both 4wd diff ratios if there is a difference.

Just unscrew the factory breather take it two enzed or pirtek or some hose joint get a pipe fitting with the same thread and then buy some hose to put onto it.

What is cross over steering?

im not really sure mate. But when you find out i have a 01 model 4wd steering box if your interested.

I was wondering what the diff ratios for a 1998 extra cab hilux with a 5L engine are and also what the diff ratios are for a 2001 dual cab with 1KZTE engine. Does anyone know.

wow $10000 that is rediculous. Is it a recon engine. Mine was $4500 for a whole wrecked car. With an engine that has done 10000Km. I know that is really cheap but $10000 seems excessive.

hi mate. im not sure of price for the wiring loom. I found a crashed 01 model hilux which i picked up for $4500 so i will use the loom out of that one. Will let you know how it all goes.

Starting my 5L to 1KZTE conversion engine and gear box are out of my car and engine and gearbox ready to come out of the donor car. Looked into it a bit and should not be to hard of a conversion. Wiring to the ecu should also be easy enough.

That would be good bastard. im looking at a rolled over wreck with the 1KZTE in it so i would use that gearbox bell housing etc in my car. im just not sure what mods are needed for mounting did your brother inlores bolt straight in. The ECU and wiring side of things should not be a drama as i do ...

if you have a LSD rear i would probably put it in the front. just my opinion.

i pulled the timing belt cover and it was not the timing belt. i jumped the gun on my diagnosis. It has actually dropped a valve and made a mess of my engine. So im up for anther one.

Hi all. I have owned two hilux s one 2000 model with 5LE engine and one 1998 model with 5L engine. On both of them the timing belt has broken early. I was wondering if anyone else has had problems with their timing belts breaking on the 5L engines.
