Re: VH45det (Nissan v8) - seeking experienced advice for big

A mate of mine put a twin turbo VH45 into a S14 200SX.

It is a bitch of a job and he swears he will never do it again.

Makes 700Hp at the wheels though and crazy torque.

I was going to fit the same to my GU but fitting it was a nightmare so I gave up.

I am looking for the same for my GU build up.

What models did the 4.6's and 4.88's come out in?

Also can you fit GQ centres to GU housings?

Someone told me GU are tougher? True?

Thanks

Thanks for the responses. If the standard GU rim is +10 then 0 should clear it out further??

Looks like they should be ok for 33's at least and maybe 35's

Can I run 0 offset rims on a GU?

Sorry for what may be a dumb question. I have searched and cannot find the answer. I plan to run 35's when I get reduction gears in my GU. I am looking at some 33's on 0 offset rims. Will they work? Or do I need a negative offset rim to pump the wheels out more? My understanding is negative offset m...

I was building a VH45 Twin Turbo into a GU. Note the Was. Had all the bits too!

It needed so much custom fabrication the cost was going to be 15k+

Went with a worked RB25DET instead. Just over half the price! Half as cool but 70% as useful!

The bar looks sweet mate.

Did you flip the ball joint? That makes a difference.

I would suggest extended shackles for the back rather than heavier springs as your ride does not suffer so much.

Why not run a 75mm body lift?

Hi,

Thanks for the answers!

The diff has the hole at the top blocked off. I have no idea why anyone would have disengaged the breather. I figured it must be for something else. I will try take it out and refit the breather.

Thanks again :)

Can anyone identify what this is on my Patrol? It looks like a hydraulic line terminating at the diff not plugged into anything on my Patrol. Ir runs back to near where the old gearbox was and terminates? It was never plugged in from day one and has a but of dirt in the end which tell me it has been...

Powertrax Part # GU Patrol

I am thinking of going one of these for the front diff of my GU Patrol build up.

Anyone know for sure the part #?

I have a couple of conflicting stories on which one is the right one for my truck.

For the price of a Grande you can get a Disco 3 HSE. (Well $4500 more anyway)

If I wasnt scared I would break the thing it would be my first choice.

If only there was some decent choice for a solid axle.

Mine has the grinding noise when backing off above 60klms, most noticeable coasting at 110. I suspect as viperguy said it is the spline. There appears to be a bit of play in it. I have fitted a 25mm tailshaft spacer hoping that would bring the spline back into spec but it made no difference. It is r...
