A mate of mine put a twin turbo VH45 into a S14 200SX.
It is a bitch of a job and he swears he will never do it again.
Makes 700Hp at the wheels though and crazy torque.
I was going to fit the same to my GU but fitting it was a nightmare so I gave up.

Can I run 0 offset rims on a GU?
Sorry for what may be a dumb question. I have searched and cannot find the answer. I plan to run 35's when I get reduction gears in my GU. I am looking at some 33's on 0 offset rims. Will they work? Or do I need a negative offset rim to pump the wheels out more? My understanding is negative offset m...

What is this?
Can anyone identify what this is on my Patrol? It looks like a hydraulic line terminating at the diff not plugged into anything on my Patrol. Ir runs back to near where the old gearbox was and terminates? It was never plugged in from day one and has a but of dirt in the end which tell me it has been...

Powertrax Part # GU Patrol
I am thinking of going one of these for the front diff of my GU Patrol build up.
Anyone know for sure the part #?
I have a couple of conflicting stories on which one is the right one for my truck.

The project is finally starting to gain some momentum. I settled on the VH45 V8. The option of throwing a couple of hair dryers on is still there too, but we will see how much room there is. The new engine is out of the front cut and sitting next to the truck. Hopefully it will be in next weekend. I...

Mine has the grinding noise when backing off above 60klms, most noticeable coasting at 110. I suspect as viperguy said it is the spline. There appears to be a bit of play in it. I have fitted a 25mm tailshaft spacer hoping that would bring the spline back into spec but it made no difference. It is r...

I have owned one for 2 years now and to date it has been great. I have the '93 2.8TD model. The utes are all petrol and rather average engine wise. The wagons are all diesel and much stronger engine wise. The major model differences are (In Wagons): To '94 - 2.8L TD Mid '94 - 3.1L TD '96 - New much ...

Thanks again for the input guys. I am leaning towards the VH45 again. I can get the conversion done a bit cheaper than 10k as one of my mates does it for a living. I am told Marks is doing an adapter plate up for the gearbox at the moment and will be ready in a few months. But I am thinking the auto...

Thanks for the clarification on the diff ratios RVH96. I got it for a good price. If I have to spend another 20K on it to make it right I will not be unhappy. I see there are rebuild kits available for these engines now too: Ebay ZD30 Rebuild Kit But if I go down that path I still have a ZD30 and I ...

GU Patrol Build Up
I have recently purchased a DX GU Patrol with a dud 3.0 engine with the intention of building into a beast. http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j317/jimmybarrell/DXPatrol2v2.jpg http://i83.photobucket.com/albums/j317/jimmybarrell/DXPatrol.jpg Having been playing with my MU for the last 18 months I am ...

I have a 2000 model sitting in my front yard too! Not sure what is wrong with it exactly and have not had the time to work it out. Just contemplating what to drop into it. While a 4.2 Turbo Diesel would be great the cost is prohibitive. Everything from VH45 to 2JZ has been suggested. While a bit sma...
