Re: New Mitsu 4x4 Concept (open source)

Yeah, this won't be an FJ copy or a Cherokee copy for that matter. We have some pride, The idea is for a truly capable 4x4 with stoutness exceeding the 2nd Gen Montero in an economical package (everything you need and nothing you don't) your input is noted and thanks. However Jeep is bringing back ...

New Mitsu 4x4 Concept (open source)

What do you want in a 4x4 SUV? I know i haven't been too active on this forum lately but OL has always been one of my favorite forums. I'm working with MMC on a new 4x4 concept, not to replace the Pajero but to start a new chapter in Mitsubishi 4WD. This vehicle will be more competitive with the ...

Re: 7.25 front locker Gen2 - IO?

I sent my friend (lordtrunks on these forums) a text. He confirmed that the manual trans iO uses the same ring carrier as the 4 cylinder montero and 3.0 gen 2. So if the Kaiser locker is for that same diff it will work, the mitsu part number is MB393001 for the 7.25 carrier. Big thanks to LT for ...

http://www.4x4wire.com/forums/showflat.php?Cat=0&Number=1260650&an=&page=&vc=1 I haven't updated it in a while, But i have changed some things on the build. I traded my friend my dual case setup for a automatic transmission with like 80k miles and a single speed Marks 4wd crawler case. Also got a ...

Re: 3.0 v6 4M40 swap compatibility

Not that it's the same at all but swapped in a 4D55 from a L200 into my '88 SWB Montero. It was a pretty simple swap, I only had to change the oil pan to a rear sump which i got from a Ford Ranger 4D55 and modify my air cleaner otherwise it was a direct swap. I'd suggest maybe holding out for a ...

Re: LWB Crawler chop! Long travel test

Thanks guys, NathanC on 4x4wire made an adapter but i don't know if he's got a blueprint of it or anything. It wouldn't be a hard thing to have machined up locally. As for a build thread i'm working on it, mostly just little posts here and there of the progress of the engine swap and t-case swap.

Got it, i'd get a Dana 300. they are really tough and gear driven. If you're stretching chains that's the only way to go.

Re: LWB Crawler chop! Long travel test

The Np231 is not nearly as strong as the mitsu case and i won't run the 231 behind the doubler because it will grenade it. I'll be running the doubler with a Dana300 t-case, If you want an inexpensive stront-case the Dana 300 is the one to get. The plus side about the 300 is that you can run it ...

LWB Crawler chop! Long travel test

Finally took it out for a test crawl, tested out the NP231 T-case swap and the long travel rear suspension. Worked out pretty good other than needing to extend the bumpstops, I found out the caliper hits the frame with the fitting and breaks it off. Never ran out of travel or lifted a tire all day ...

Re: 3.5 litre into a 3.0?

Yeah it´s really a pretty straight forward swap, I think swapping in 3.5´s is gonna be a new trend here in the states kind of like swapping out carby 2.6´s for turbo EFI 2.6´s or NA 2.4´s.

Re: 35's on paj

I've got 35's on my '94 and really big 35x13.5's (as tall as most 36's) on my '99, both only have only a 2" body lift and i rolled the fenders with a pipe instead of the hammer method for the most part. They barely scrub, when i had a 2" suspension lift on my '99 they didn't rub at all but i took ...

I did one on a SWB with a 3" body lift, just cut the rear section of the frame and moved it up. that section of frame didn't have the body lift pucks, i might have pics of that somewhere. I did take pictures of mine but i haven't hosted them yet.
