Re: whinch truck

Mine owes about 16g all in

Arb lockers
Longfields
Stud upgrade in rear
3 inch lift
36 inch pedes
Beadlocks
Highmount with freespool
Cage
Racing seats
Harnesses

That would be the absolute minimum, it was built for modified class, but is currently being converted to open class with a new motor

You wont have to swap the complete axle, as long as the HJ47 is a fully floating axle you can just swap the HJ60 backing plates and brakes onto the housing

Transfer case

Steve,

I am building along the same lines as you, I am using the Part time 80 series transfer case. Not sure if it is going to stand up to 500hp lon term, but is the strongest transfer i could find (and afford) at the time. Maybe the new V8 70 series, ones might be the ticket

Is the circlip really needed? You need to stop the axle drifting in and out, in a toyota, it really needs to run hard up against the bronze bush so there are 2 ways to do this 1. run the circlip 2. martack - put a little tack weld on the axle spline so that it cannot go into the spider gear any ...
