Re: lockers...
I went the Detroit soft auto locker and it is great, you would not know it is there and you don't have to do a thing ( always working). Buy direct from US and save heaps, I would put one in the front to if the disco wasn't AWD.

Re: Locrite Lockers.
Go the Detroit soft locker, I have just fitted one to my Disco and you cannot tell when it is unlocking, very smooth. My brother had a Lockright in the rear of his shorty cruiser and it clicked and banged (never broke anything). 10 years later he pulled it out and the axels splines had warn almost ...

Re: 90's+ Discovery fuel costs
I have a auto 300TDI 96 model, when I first got it I was getting about 10l/100k (720km / tank), now I only get about 550km /tank around town. Not sure why it has dropped off. Disco TDI power stearing, what thaa
Looks like the power stearing pump has died. First I thought it was just the belt cut down to half width not having enough pressure to drive however after checking bearings etc I found the pump pully and shaft slide towards the fan. Can it be fixed or would is it common for the shaft to snap or ...

Russ, I run std height after market springs on mine with a 255/70/16 Mungral for track work. They do just kiss the front guards if you drive fast and bottom it out. Rear I made Z brackets and spaced out the rear guards at the back for the next few trips. Then I read some where, where you can cut and ...

My brother had one in the back of his diesel 79 shorty for 10 years. When he changed to a ute (due to rust problems) we found the splines on the axels where about half worn off!! We put this down to the constant moving / engaging under load. He ended up chucking the lockright and axels. You have to ...

How are people mounting them. I was going to buy some nut inserts for the front and also drill through ...
