Call for help

Can anyone tell me if they have any slop in the back of the gearbox where the drive shaft spins in?

It is a fitting on the back of the gearbox that can be replaced. This could be the reason for all the geabox/drivetrain vibration I am getting, coming from the worn output of the gearbox.

I have ...

Sounds like spacers present are more of a risk than they're worth. Anyway I was never keen on them very much.

That just leaves different rims, and unless I feel rich I might as well put up with the stock ones since I recently got new tyres.

Are their rims with the same/similar width that are ...

How would I go about widening my narrow track a bit? It looks a bit tipsy with the suspension lift.

I don't really want to get wider tyres than what I already got, for a number of reasons. Would different rims or spacers (do they exist?) work?

Nice setup David.

I didn't know the Feroza had the temperature sensor near the radiator. Mine is near the distributor.

Btw, does anyone have problems with excessive cooling when outside temp is below about 18 deg c, and engine is doing above 3000rpm? (my temp can drop to a needle width above the ...

Problem Engine Mounts

After replacing the broken lhs engine mount a year or so back, and the rhs shortly after with new genuine daihatsu mounts, both mounts have now sagged and are resting on the upper curved bit.

I am getting a lot of vibration because of this. I then replace both of them AGAIN (at great cost) and I ...

I believe something is wrong with my left hand engine bracket, because even with a new mount, the mount sits on the chassis, seemingly causing my gearbox to rattle and vibrate the living daylights out of itself.

It is probably even causing all the low level rumbling and harshness in the cabin ...

The feroza without the black induction box, has peak torque at 4800rpm, which isn't very usable 4wding. The black box brings it down to 3500rpm, and gives a slightly wider torque curve between 3000 and 4000rpm, a bit better for 4wding.

I don't know how different the Detomaso intake is, but if you ...

I am not sure what you mean murcod about what pipe goes where.

Currently the upper pipe coming from the vacuum advance goes straight into the throttle body, and the lower pipe braches off some where down the track.

Is this correct, or have I got them the wrong way around?

I guess the reason why I though it was something more was because it sounded so bad, but its just the steering bump stops. Yet another thing to add to the list of things to grease for the front suspension.

I would tend to stick with the black box on road and go back to the original pre black box setup when off roading. It all depends if ...

The leaf above the overload was the right one to take out to improve the ride but It also changes the ride height the most. I wouldn't suggest tinkering with any of the other leaf's because your spring set will eventually sag bad.

I had to take a similar leaf out to lower the vehicle because of a ...
