check if the bottom hose is soft . they suck in and restrict flow the faster you go . simple squeeze will tell if it feels real soft .

look for a hose with a spring in them , this is to stop it sucking in

ok, here's where im at,
i have run the red ignitor wire to the positive side of the ballist resistor,
black wire to the earth on the coil,
fully charged battery and have got someone to wind it over while i moved the dizzy slowly from one end to the other and back,

still nothing, wtf is going ...

here's where im at,

0.00ohms at the ignitor earth, thats that sorted,

11.84volts @ ignitor wires with power on, (battery's on charge, so may go up)

5.10volts @ the coil, (with power on,)

11.77volts @ ballist resistor (with power on)

does that sound about right,

When you say 11.84 ...

as said earlier by someone, do away with the condensor, and the original wiring fron the distributor to coil, and run a new wire. Then run the power wire to the battery voltage side of the ballast resistor.

Which side of the ballast did you wire it up to?

I used some stuff in mine called Bitron gear treatment. It was noisey as buggery, the Bitron quietened it down within about 500 kms of driving, and I have since changed the oil without adding Bitron and it is still going quietly 40,000 kms after.

I have a denco kit, t3 style water cooled turbo, modded injector pump with boost compensator, 3 inch mandrel exhaust and 3 inch dump pipe running 16 psi and around 100kw at rear wheels on 33's. The egt does run a bit high at 450 - 500 deg celcius when towing , but other than that it is good.

So do the ozzy distributors actually know about the lobe sensing model yet?

I rang the Aus distributor of Pertronix the other day, (the one listed on Retro rockets website) can't remember their name, and they recommended the lobe sensor version, but would have to wait a couple of weeks for it to ...

Hi, just put a set of 35's on my LWB GQ and i am looking for a spare 35 aswell, was just wondering if the rear barn door will cope with the extra weight, or if it should be reinforced somehow..

I have been qouted $4200 for a DENCO set-up, inlcudng:

* full 3inch zaust/dump pipe
* dyno print out tune/checkover
* All the other various pieces/fully installed no-more bull shit
* EXTRA $400 if i want PYRO gauge

How does that sound?

So do you know what was wrong with your distributor to cause the points to burn out?

This will be interesting to find out as I have a customers patrol at work doing exactly the same thing, was just about to fit a condensor to see if it would fix the problem, but it sounds asthough that may not be it..

A body mount wouldn't cause a repaetitive knocking through the car though would it? It really feels and sounds like a crook cv joint in a front wheel drive car.

Hi, when I turn left at about 70 to 100 kmh I get a fairly severe knocking noise coming from the right front of the vehicle, ( a 94 GQ wagon ) you can feel it through the steering and through the floor. Don't be worried by that, before I turboed mine and stuffed around with it, it used to get 650kms to a tank, now with the turbo it gets 300, but it is going to get tuned next weekend.

The problem for me is that I am 3 hours away from Melbourne in Warrnambool, and I own my own business, so it is hard to just fly down there at any time, I have booked it into Ray at Turbo Engineering next Friday and he is going to put a 3"mandrel and dump pipe on , a boost compensator and tune it ...

I had the same trouble with mine, the piston moved in the master cylinder when i put a new slave on and it just didn't want to work in its new spot. Tried bleeding with vacuum, pressure bleeding at the reservoir, everything, in the end I bought a new master cylinder and it fixed it straight away..

I have 93 gq, just reco'd engine and fitted turbo 3 months ago, best I have got yet is 320 kms out of 92 litres. Not happy, used to get 800 odd kays before I blew it up and turbo'd it.

The turbo used in the DTS kit is water cooled and also has the option of being high flowed.
