Re: Can Trailer Brakes be fitted to trailer and not in cab (
Specialist rigging and chain suppliers (eg. Nobles) will be able to supply appropriately stamped chain, as said by others, not stamped = not compliant. It is more than a little retarded given an appropriate size of short link lifting chain would be entirely suitable, but thems the rules in this ...

Re: Can Trailer Brakes be fitted to trailer and not in cab (
Cheers for the advice! It is pretty unclear. ADR 38 - which is national - states that the trailer brakes need to be adjustable and operable from the drivers seat - I interpret this as a control must be in cab. A company by the name of sureweld advertises trailer options for their equipment ...

I wasn't charged for GST as the price of the tyres came in under $1000 but I probably should have been as the air freight pushed it over by around $300+. Regards Andrew. If the actual cost of the goods is below $1000AUD then the cost of shipping does not come into it. However if the actual cost of ...

Then, unless you've got an alternative means by which to comply with the full (eg. not section 4) requirements of ADR 38, I'd suggest that your trailer would actually be limited to 4500kg ATM. http://www.comlaw.gov.au/Details/F2007L02223" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Hope this helps.

Yeah, we alo have all sorts of issues with mistakes by NEVDIS (eg. plates/chassis match, nevdis stuff up their side). Make sure you read the vin directly off the chassis (right hand side rail, outboard side, just behind the front axle line) as this is the number that matters. Let's say ...

I drilled and tapped my drum, although I did it while I had the winch in pieces reconditioning it. If access is okay I can see no reason you couldn't drill and tap with it in situ.

Replacement gearsets are cheap, not worth the hassle of risking another failure because you reused damaged parts. Either find a good 2nd hand centre to steal the CW&P from or just buy new.

At those dollars, unless the car is a wreck you should be able to buy the whole lot and sell off anything you don't need to recoup the cost.

225/85R16? Thats a bit of an oddball size, you sure they're not 235/85R16? that'd be more common.
Rim options are basically the same as any other early 70 series cruiser, so FJ75/HJ75/FZJ75/HZJ75 ute or troopcarrier.

If you don't have luck sourcing the 79 series airbox, then a 2nd option (seriously, go the factory parts if you can, makes life easier) would be to just source a mandrel bend of the appropriate diameter to match the snorkel, then trim it to shape to blend into the airbox. Then remove/patch or just ...

Re: 4-speed-5speed GEARBOX SWAP on BJ42
To elaborate on what Ray said, repositioning the rear (and front) axles on 40 series cruisers is a reasonably common modification. The longer wheelbase soothes a few of the foibles of a 90" wheelbase like fore-aft rocking and harshness. The most common option is a 60 series rear spring (big eye, so ...

Hopefully someone more knowledgeable than me will come in with details, but you're going to need a pump (sounds like you already have one), a directional control valve, a cylinder with a big enough piston to create the required force at the pressure your pump is putting out (specs? 3000psi?), a ...
