Would extractors off a Patrol GQ 4.2 Diesel go onto a patrol gq 4.2 petrol? And if it does, how much would i be looking at for someone to fit them and 2.5inch exhaust that comes with it?

I agree with you that a GQ is just a bit too clunky looking for that kind of money (but a great option for under $10k). Just at the top of the bottom hinge is the thing that holds the door open when fully open. its like a curvy thing that slides over a circular thing. Thats where the problem was with mine, just dirty and needed some grease. I would check that out before changing the hinges.

I don't run my petrol around town. You're supposed to run petrol every now and then to lubricate the engine so whenever to do some offroading i just use petrol

Around town it chews about 25L/100km on gas so on my 90L tank i would be lucky to get 350km, but when i fill up, it rarely goes over $35. People say to go diesel cause its more fuel efficient but you can't get it for less than $1.10/...
