From Frontera to Ford

Hey all, Remember last week how I said getting a 4WD is still a way off and I'd probably grab a Ford...well we did it today. Now I'm set to hit the trails around Georgia and Sth Carolina. We got a Ford Expedition (bigger than an Explorer) I haven't got all the specs but it runs a 5.4lt V8 has 114lt ...

It's been a while, How the hell are y'all?

G'day guys, Well I've been in the USA now for just over 3 months and really enjoying the sights and the warm weather. The Hurricane/Servere Storm warnings, i'm pretty much getting use to ;-) I have yet to get muddy as I still don't have a 4WD, I miss the Fronty, but my Dad sure is enjoying it now ...

I'm very happy with my 3.2 even though its from a newer model and not a Jack.. (2000 Frontera) still the same motor as such. Already done 165,000km and still sounds as good as the first day rolling out of the show room.

Wheel Bearings

I was considering re-packing the outer wheel bearings in the Frontera (front ones) as it is something that hasn't been done in a while..more than likely NEVER and was wondering if it is an easy job to do. I have done them previously in the Commodore, but unsure if it as simple as a street car as it ...

A final trip has been planned with my 4WD group to send me off, a Midnight to Dawn run from Mt.Walker to Kanangra to Wombeyan Caves on May 1-2. A trip I am really looking forward ...

Whilst on the subject of selling Frontera's, I am in the process of coming to the end of my Lease, we have the option to buy it for about $8,000.00 or less and seeing I am moving to the States in May, looks like my dad is going to pick up a ...

There isn't a snorkel kit (yet) for a Frontera. I know the Rodeo's have them, but that is a question mark... Lifting your Frontera, not sure about Calmini, but you can get from TJM (if they take your money ) A TJM 2.5" lift kit will set you back $840.00 supplied and fitted. Up here in Blacktown they ...

Well after a weeks delay, the Frontera is now out of the weeds and sitting a comfy 2.5" taller the standard. A different world up there ;) got to find some time to test it before I hit Cameron Corner next week.

So easy to deal with guys that want to help and know what can be done to IFS torsion 4WDs. Cheers Greg P.
