Cheers for the comments. I don't think clearance will be an issue - I have WT diffs on a NT chassis, so my spring perches are mounted further inboard. But 11.5" does still seem a bit wide for a 1.3 to be spinning.

Maxxis Mudzillas - anyone used them?

I've been offered a cheap(ish) set of Maxxis Mudzillas in 31x11.5. Probably a little wider than I was looking for, but I've been considering them. Anyone had any experience with this tyre?

Simex dealer Brisbane

Anyone know one? I've rung around a few dealers and they all seem to do Bridgestone and Coopers, but can't tell me where I can get some Simexes.

Yep, a ute.

What would be involved with fitting the vitara setup? Mounts for the pump, the unit under the dash?

Air con options

I've got a tintop LWB that I've put a 1.3L donk in and WT diffs and I'm wondering what I can do to combat the QLD heat. What options are available for air con? Jimny? Later sierras?

Please don't give me the "open your windows" line...

I managed to get it started today by disconnecting the loom from the positive terminal on the coil and running a wire direct from positive on the battery. The loom seems to be earthing that connection somewhere and bringing volts down to 0.5v.

Any idea where this might be happening?

Trying to sort out ignition wiring

I recently replaced my 1L donk with a 1.3L and replaced dash and complete wiring loom also. I just finished plugging the wiring loom in and am having some troubles starting her up. I'm getting power to the starter and all electrics (lights, wipers, indicators, clock etc) are working fine, but I'm ...

Doing this exact conversion today/tomorrow - WT 1.3 diffs into a NT 1.0. Although I have also swapped out transfers and have a donor 1.3 WT for brakelines etc. Will post anything worth mentioning.

Nope, I'm talking about the strip/mould/surround rubber that holds the glass in and keeps the rain out. Thanks anyway.

Yep, tried wreckers, no good. I'm not happy about paying almost $200 for a piece of rubber. I actually cut up my old one thinking that a new one would be about $50.

I hardly paid that much for the whole car! :P

Anyone got a spare lying around, perhaps in an old zook? Might post a wanted ad...

Pull the spark plugs out and turn her over for abotu 30 seconds. Then let it sit for a bit before putting the plugs back in. It should start fine then.

Yep I hear ya - mine failed on a few things were legitimately wrong with it, however I plan on changing over most of the 1ltr, 4spd, NT stuff with 1.3, 5spd, WT stuff - so I didn't really want to go fixing up the dodgy stuff. Got a good inspector who overlooked quite a few things when I explained my ...

Here we go, this is what I've got: http://www.imgblock.com/images/fbrzimxgdhaxe9dccn0d.jpg Plate on the left is the compliance plate, plate on the right is the vehicle ID plate. The body number is listed on both plates, but I can't find it stamped on the body/chassis anywhere and the engine number ...

Nope, nothing behind the head - but shouldn't it be on the block anyway? Nothing on the block in that area either. There are 2 plates on my zook - the compliance plate and the vehicle ID plate. Both plates have the body number (6 digits, doesn't have the model code in it), so I'm guessing that is ...

VIN and engine numbers?

Where the heck is the VIN number on Sierras? I've got a '83 NT ute if it matters. I've found the body number on the vehicle ID plate, but is this the same as the VIN? Also, where is the engine number on the 1ltr? I've searched around and can't find it anywhere. I'd appreciate it if anyone could ...
