Because your setting BASE timing, with no alterations, you should only effect it when the vac or mechanical advance do their thing :D

Yep, that makes sense and ties in with the timing table I have yet to set up for the electronic ignition. This table has MAP (manifold air pressure) on the ...

probably increase consumption! cold air is harder for a motor to suck in, hot air is thinner so flows easier, as well the reduced mass of warmer air requiring less fuel. hot air also needs more throttle for the same power as cold air, so less pumping losses. FA in it though!

I've used a soft wax type product, sorry forget its name. brush it on on a warm day, works well, but too much on = shit. can also be tinted with enamel paint. ~ $20 per litre (enough to do a lwb soft top 2x)

NP 435, cheap to buy, strong as superman, granny low, easy to rebuild, fits a 5L with a toploader bellhousing, short, ..........

essentially only a three speed box though and about 1k of custom work to adapt it to a case.

How many I/O ? It may be easier to build or buy a Microcontroller based board unit, will certainaly be cheaper. Was thinking of doing this myself for a custom BCM. Program in basic or c with a free compiler off net, real easy..

Out of curiosity what do you plan on using it for? I've been playing round with some Atmel ATMega microcontrollers for a thermofan control with an lcd display (16*2 line). These are 5V but its dead simple to make a powersupply on the actual circuit board.

Dont know about kiwibacon, but I want to ...

IMO paint the 186 green, stamp an unused landy number on the block - the vic road muppets wouldn't know any different.

What number is on the rego? I assume it hasn't been done officially.

Re: rebuilding a 3.5

Have been toying with the idea of throwing in a EFI holden v8 and Marks Adapter kit but decided against it due to the much larger cost for engine(with loom and ECU) $1500, plus adapter kit somewhere above the $1000 dollar mark.

How much were you expecting the 3.5 rebuild to cost? the above ...

My head hurts.

Looking at the kits from Glens Garage, trying to work out what I need.

I want two kits, one for the rangie, and one for my alfa.

The rangie I want to have spark control, fuel (duh!), knock sensors, and maybe dual oxy sensors.

The alfa needs fuel, spark, knock sensor, boost ...
