BigBad, the P76 with the twin stroms gave me 25ltr to the 100K so it was shocking before I did the conversion. I am confident the new configuration will give me far better economy due to more effecient injection!

My 4.4 (now 5L) runs the std manifold and twin carb set up and will run upside down on hills. It is rejetted though to try and increase HP.
However, this weekend I am putting on a brand new WILLPOWER manifold to suit a 4 barrel and bolting in a Holley Projection Unit. Should go like the clappers ...

Endless Air or AC
Your advice please...I have recently fitted a high mount winch to my 77 2 door. To fit it into the grill I had to remove the thermo fan which sucks air into the AC Condensor. Although I live in QLD the Rangie is not a daily driver and the AC has no gas and as its the old gas "may" be quite an ...

Hi all...I've been watching this thread for a while. My Rangie has a P76 4.4 bored out to 5.0L and I love it. Sure its an old conversion but its fairly easy, has great TORQUE and Revs hard.... Really pleased with it. My perfect 3.5 is still in my shed but the biiger cubes are great. I also have the ...

Dear Forumers
It seems that probably one of THE MOST common failures with the old 10 spliner axles while 4Bing in the bush is the axle/uni/C&P failure. Can someone post up on the forum a quick step by step guide for both front and rear diffs on how to assess, recover, and if possible get the car ...

Heh Locknut. I was thinking of doing exactly what you've done. Would you be able to post up a diagram or even a bit more detail as to how you have done this. I get the positive bit off the fan, but how have you wired in your relay to dash mounted switch etc.
Any advice would be awesome.

From what I know it is a definite NO to remove the thermostat. I have read nothing will wear a motor out more than by doing this. Something to do with failing to allow the motor to heat correctly and causing major wear issues....

An update for you all! OK, firstly I reckon the old 7 blade viscous hub fan jobby is well and truly rooted. It stays the same spin tolerance whether its cold or 130 degrees. So its coming off.
