Yeah it has been on and off the road not just in the shed, it was a wreck when i got it, rolled and burnt out a bit. It firstly was going to be a farm hack but i liked driving it to much, so I restored it back to completely stock with a slight body and suspension lift. been playing around with the ...

Aurion v6 in sierra
Have been building up a 97 sierra for a while, now its time for an engine.
Was thinking it would be great to have the 200kw aurion v6 under the bonnet, alot of power i know! Is this as crazy as it sounds? and what sort of gearbox is best suited? would prefer to keep it manual

Turboing
Anyone done up and turboed a 3.5, or is it just crazy?
I've heard a well built 3.5 to 3.6 or above with some nice bits and peices can way out perform a 4.6 conversion, what does everyone think? thats without the turbo

Suspension sag
Has anyone have a rangie that isn't lower on the right hand side? Especially after a lift, and what springs are you running?
I know the driver makes the difference but I have a sill tank in the left and the spare wheel but it has still dropped on the right after a lift.
thanks

Mainly beach and dirt road thrashin as im heading back to SA from Vic, but also like to head to the flinders ranges and a few other harder locker only tracks that I have found over the years. Money isn't really an issue as long as it's not to over the top as i have had a WT before and never had a ...

NT with WT or Lux Diffs?
Is it worth building up a NT and installing WT diffs to obtain the extra clearance between tyre and spring? Are lux diffs that much better for an everyday and weekend fun driver?
First 4by was a siera, had to spend a fair bit on bearings, starter, bushes and cooling system but engine and tcase/gear box was still strong at 160,000+km, was running 235 at's. did 110 on freeway fine with no wind or incline, could do 110 up most hills in 4th but it was revvin hard. Got it off ...

bloody hell! I do know what I want A rangie that goes as well as looks tuff, Don't really care what engine between the 4.7 and 4.6 but by the sounds of it the 4.6 will be better for long trips to the surf and be a little more practical, maybe even a mild 3.9. I can't argue with the crazy amounts of ...

Thanks for all the help, I have talked to Rangie Automotive (Joe) and thats were I got the opinion that i would be best of with a 3.9 tricked out with all the goodies to 4.7. It was mentioned that this would be a more than capable engine. I don't realy know what I want, but at the moment the car is ...

$12,000 is the lowest ive been quoted from all repuable workshops in Melbourne. This is for a very strong engine with computer, extractors and all the other good bits. Most places were around 14-15k for a complete 4.6 conversion. Reminding you that most work will be done by the shop. thats why i'm ...

Thanks; I heard that there has been problems with the 4.6 litre block and that the best option is to build a 3.9 up to about 4.7. I do understand that there is a lot of work involved and Im not that mechanicaly minded, like most Im good at pulling things down, but then need help. I knew that I would ...

Rangie Engine Conversion
Drive a very good condition 89 rangie, last of 3.5 injected. What is the best conversion to do; holden, rover 3.9 or 4.6, stroker, or rebuild original 3.5? Would like opinions on what handles best and has less problems not necessarily highest power output.
