While redrilling/slotting the swivels sorts out the castor it doesn't do anything for the nose of the diff. For the propshaft (driveshaft?) to work at it's best the flanges at each end should be parallel to each other. Using corrected arms sorts out the castor and also moves the nose of the diff ...

That's correct, atmospheric pressure is around 100KPa normally, anything below that is a vacuum.

For a normally aspirated engine 100KPa indicates full throttle, at anything less than full throttle the pressure will decrease in the plenum chamber, and will be at it's lowest during overrun.

Sounds like the brake is activating ?

Free spool on a standard 8274 is one of those things they added as a "feature" for marketing purposes, I don't think they ever intended anyone to actually use it.

I bought one of the "new" high output ARB compressors. The air tank on the compressor is much smaller than the older model it replaced. I added an 11 litre air tank in the end as it was the biggest I could fit under the floor. It seems to give about the right length of time to fill up the tank, not ...

Starter motors and alternators on diesels don't like water either :)

You might want to consider moving the engine ECU if it's under the seat on your model... depends how deep you want to go though. Without extending/altering the loom you can normally get the ECU up high inside the dash somewhere.

No, because the LS1 has a forward pointing throttle body and the transmission is so much longer than the standard one there's hardly any room in there at all. Might be a location thing, in the UK 6k for a pair of unbreakable "bolt on" axles doesn't seem that bad. Defo compares well with the opposition especially since the pound died against the US dollar. Electrolytic corrosion is something that can happen on any car. You can check your own system pretty easily, if you put a voltmeter +ve probe into the top of the radiator without touching metal and connect the -ve probe to the battery negative you should get a maximum of 0.1V, anything above that ...

The engine is ally....

That's why you have to run anti-freeze all year round to stop the engine galleries corroding away

Land Rovers don't have electrics, they have smoke circulation systems when you can see the smoke it means one of the "wires" has cracked.

The only negatives I've heard about the X-Springs is a tendency to lift the back end when going down hills.

On the whole though, the competitors using them in the UK seem to be very happy with them.

You could always use Megasquirt to run the 4.6, if it's a Thor or GEMS it'll run either without much problem.

If it's a GEMS 4.6 the 3.9 ECU could probably run it anyway, for the most part you could use the 3.9 engine loom as is in that case.
