I have been running a set of VR V6 commodore injectors in my early 3.5 disco for about 3 years now without issue. They just slotted straight in. Got them cheap off ebay. Would have gone the mustang ones but I was being cheap!!

Quadramotive in Melbourne and Asquith and Johnson in Sydney both did conversions using the Wood and Pickett components at that time. They normally included a 200hp upgrade to the 3.5 or a 5 litre Holden V8. Both also got recaro seats and the schuler transfer case as part of the conversion and normal...

Try cleaning the Idle Air Control valve at the back of the manifold. Also, plugs, leads, dissy cap. It was one of those that fixed mine, can't quite recall now..

Find a rover guy to look at it - most normal mechanics have no idea - I highly recommend Rovertech at Brendale.

Not that I have used him but the Airbag Man at Brendale seems very competitive for parts and alternatives to genuine.

I ran a set of 4:30's in my 2A back in the early 80's and it was a very good compromise - but then in those days it was only beach and highway use - still suffered from the same weak rear axle..

Check out www.aluminumv8.com or the March 1985 issue of Hot Rod for info on adding some cubes to the rover. A search of the web reveals a lot of mix and match with Buick /Olds parts.

I also like your thinking here about using the entire loom. My Disco is closing on 400k and I have been thinking along the same lines of a VP-VR swap including the 700r4. Using the dash would solve a lot of things - I wonder if I could use the AC too??

The kays don't matter so much as the service history (or as I once read - how many times the drivers door's been opened!!). If it has been serviced every 5000k then it should run for ever. I bought mine with 200k (admittely 1 owner off a property) and it is now going on 400k and the only real proble...

Power steering whine??

Well, last night the power steering pump started to whine. Checked the fluid level and it was down considerably. Checked the box and it appears that the lower seals are gone. Topped everything up with the Lucas goo and it it has quietened down a bit. Question: Does the whine indicate that the pump i...

Very familiar with FWD from the series trucks. The Disco is at the mechanics as, if it had to wait till I had time, it would be another month. Hopefully get a gear box guy to look at it this week.

ZF auto re-builder in Brisbane?

Well the ZF auto in the D1 shit itself last night - no forward drive, reverse is fine. Full of nice fresh pink fluid. No ugly noises, motor just revs and she goes nowhere (300,000 ks). Any ideas?? So I am looking for someone in Brisbane who knows what they are doing with the ZF and won't kill me for...
