Not a bad idea David! I was thinking that the convoluted path air must travel with the factory system must lack some efficency, but I'm probably wrong. I've put a K&N pod on the tube that feeds the plenum, but of course it is exposed to the dirt and heat that swirls in the engine bay. At least it ...

Custom pod filter air box?
Has anyone tried fabricating an air box to replace most of the OEM plumbing that would enclose a pod filter? I figure someone skilled with sheet metal could do it out of aluminum and seal it to gulp air from the front grill area.
