reasonating through the cab
hi there,my dads' 96' model does it to I found snorkel a bit loose on 3 mounting bolts.only by like half a turn or so though.make sure snorkel is running clear through the inner guard also. Not gauranted but thats a fault I found give it a go.

I'm considering buying one,just want to are they alright strength wise,economy.It has a td5 in it 2000 model.has any one lifted theres and got any pictures.Wouldn't mind doing medium to hard stuff thats all.

sorry hypolux tend to disagree with you on this one,the eng may start and bend rods in the mean time.my opinion only still safer to pull plugs and crank over,but it still comes back to individual rollover and circumstances.

I think the idea of pulling spark or glow plugs out is to get rid of residual oil in bores so when you crank the motor over you don't hydraulic lock the engine.

if your refering to ships like huge coal carrying or container ships, my understanding is they shut one motor down whilst at sea climb in to the bore and scrub the carbon etc off the bore walls they will do this each trip across.Plus they don't run on diesel they use a crude oil almost.

Diesels will only get glazed bores if left idling for to long or say only reved to 1500rpm for example for the whole of its life.running rough and inefficent could be maintenance on diesels because most owners don't do it,example injectors should be rebuild every 100 000.check fuel they use also ...
